I've been speaking with someone online who asked me on a date over a week ago. He wanted to know when I was free and he said he would arrange it. Tonight was the only night that was suitable for both of us, so he's had plenty of notice to arrange something.

He should have arranged it straight away. I KNEW this, and I knew that it wasn't a good sign that he didn't follow through with arranging something straight away.

At the start of this week, he asked if I still wanted to meet. As this felt like enough notice for me, I said yes.

He hasn't arranged anything. He said it's unlikely he'll be able to arrange anything so last minute. He also said that he is tired today.

I want someone keen to make a first impression. Not a tired, last minute, can't be bothered type.

I've said to him that I don't want to meet him tonight. What I should have said is that I don't want to meet ANYMORE. Or, just block and delete. I won't be meeting him after this, but I'm struggling with the ingrained politeness. I'm hoping someone can relate.

I checked events in our local area for tonight and I found loads of things to do. There's even tickets for the circus, a ceilidh (which is a traditional Scottish Country dance) and live music. I've therefore booked a date for MYSELF to go to a ceilidh. I love a ceilidh and I'm very excited!

I'm pleased I'm getting there, but I have to admit that I'm looking forward to being more confidently assertive.
