Is this one of those fake stories to make this sub look bad? We don’t advocate just not working after marriage for no reason. Raising kids, debatable, there’s disagreement on whether SAHM is too risky for women (IMO it is). If you’re actually serious , way to trap yourself into financial abuse. 🙄

Why would you not work? Being financially dependant on someone can be dangerous. I can understand if you have kids and all, but just not working entirely seems strange.

Off the top of my head, some red flags that go against FDS:

Total disregard for financial independence
Staying friends with your ex and discussing his dating habits 🤡
Started off as FWB
Kinda sounds like you brought up marriage 🚩 if he doesn’t ask out of his own volition, you move on. What if he said yes??
You still believe he can change
Nagging him about not proposing even though “he promised”

OP your story doesn't add up and I don't think you are on FDS often:

You said he in the beginning he said he never wanted to get married, but later on you go on to say he promised you'd get married and buy you a ring. Please stick with a story a man who is firmer against marriage through an entire post somehow in the TL;DR is doing the opposite?
You should always work or have some outside income coming in. This is for your betterment, and safety in a relationship. Had you been on FDS long enough you know that. Please do not box yourself in.
A woman is not a bob the builder if she desire to work for the rest of her life. Please do not put that out there. Women have dreams outside of laying under a man and being a housewife. Some of use desire long fulfilling career, and it is rude of you to think that we are being forced to work.
Why are you friends with someone you claimed is wasting your time. Are you still building a bob by giving emotional support in the form of friendship?
Why are you and your friend spying on him, why the heck do you care?

You are either a troll or a pick-me. Do better love.
