You don’t need to be available on his schedule like that. Go do other things on your time, and only tell him you were out doing whatever it is if he asks when you’re back. He’ll either start missing your presence, or you’ll both just have things to do independently. It sounds like he’s started taking your time and presence for granted, and you’re putting more thought into this guy than enriching your life, which would benefit both of you.

You don't need to prove or explain anything to decide what he's offering you is not good enough for you. That said, the fact that you brought up the subject with him and he flat-out refuses that anything is happening is a very clear indication that he doesn't respect you.

Also, I think you seem upset at the fact that he hasn't talked about the idea of marriage and you're trying to make excuses and justifying it by saying it's the culture practice. If you make it clear you want a more a serious commitment than a forever girlfriend, he will be marry you if he really loves you. He wouldn't be reluctant to marry you unless he sees you as a temporary, but long-term convenient.

Pursuer vs distancer

It is an extremely toxic relationship mechanic that all of us have some point have been through. Men typically pursue until the relationship is locked down and then the roles reverse. They will then only peruse if/when they have a need not met, i.e. sex. After fufilled they will distance again to keep you in pursuit and even as punishment for their own emotional immaturity and intimacy issues. The more you ask or talk about it the more they are likely to withdraw and the more you are likely to chase. It is extremely exhausting and debilitating to your self esteem. Not worth it, trust me.
