Last year I had a brief but intense thing with a guy that I’ll name Gru for the sake of clarity.

Gru was a total loser. No job, no education, but my hormones just went crazy around him and I was a total pick-me when he was still obviously in love with his ex who had given him the boot two years prior.

My attraction was all purely physical, and being next to each other felt like putting fire next to gunpowder.

When he saw that I was into him, even if it was only physical, Gru turned into an asshole and strung me along for the next two months.

At some point though I started questioning some of the things he said. Like, he said he had resigned from his last job, but it sounded like he had been fired for being abusive to the patients in the mental ward where he was working instead (totally unacceptable in my opinion). That kind of stuff. My questions annoyed Gru utterly and he yelled at me for asking them.

Gru also called me “pedestrian” despite the fact that I’m from a big city and he’s from Bumfuck Nowhere; he would ask me “did you understand?” after we watched a movie or anything because he thought I wasn’t smart enough to understand it (despite the fact that I have a college education and he does not); and he got me to buy him a lot of things because he was a jobless loser who would get mad at me if I didn’t buy him the food he wanted. I was a pick-me and desperate for attention (fresh out of an abusive relationship) so I gave in to his every whim.

Eventually though I opened my eyes and he was annoying enough for me to leave him behind. He didn’t love or like me anyway, so I moved forward and met Bullet, an educated, successful and smart man.

I dated Bullet for the last five months and he dumped me Tuesday in a very nasty way. Just a few days ago.

So last night I was home and was thinking about how I decided to be kind to myself from now on and never engage with Bullet again because he’s not worth my time. Keep in mind that Bullet, despite the nasty breakup, was 10000000000 times better than Gru and yet I don’t wanna talk to him.

Suddenly I received a text from Gru. I didn’t reply because fuck him. If I’m not talking to Bullet, I’m certainly not talking to Gru either.

Gru kept texting me and even said “I see you read my texts” but I left him on read. He even tried to CALL, but I didn’t pick up. Then he ended up texting me that he never stopped thinking about me and loved me. I deleted the texts because I don’t give a shit. I remember when I used to wait for his texts every day and he would tell me “you’re texting me too much” because I sent him something every once in a while.

Thing is, I know he doesn’t even love me. I know why he texted me.

He is lonely, and I recently made my Instagram public. So I’m guessing he looked me up, saw my pictures, and thought he could waste my time to gas his ego up.

In the past I would have replied, even out of curiosity or just to boost my own ego, but ever since the breakup with Bullet happened I have decided to be kind to myself. It made me realize my own worth, for some reason.

I’m DONE wasting my time on LVM who treated me like shit.
