Start with baseline attraction, remove LVMs from this pool, then look at surface-level compatibility (personality/interests), then vet via chemistry, shared values and goals in life etc.

Eventually once this pool is narrowed down you want to sift through red flags vs. green flags using FDS principles in the handbook.

I would also recommend journalling on what your ideal partner is. When you get hyper specific you'll quickly be able to tell who is matching that and who isn't. Helps you sort out the wheat from the chaff quicker.

OLD is pretty good for practicing FDS vetting imo. Don't use it expecting to find a diamond in a pile of shit, but in terms of working out how to have a convo, when to block and to spot red flags etc, it's pretty good.

Do you have any hobbies where you'd also want your partner to have?

Maybe art/pottery/dancing/exercising? If yes, try to join any groups where they do said hobbies and try to meet someone there and vet like normal

My strategy was to set boundaries on the first date. I told anyone I dated that I was dating for marriage, I wanted kids someday, I wanted someone who was fiscally responsible, and I would not put out until we were married. That eliminated all the LVMs right off the bat and I eventually found someone who met my standards.

I’d say read the handbook, then try OLD. OLD isn’t a blanket no, but you should be paying for your subscription (don’t use the free versions), and you need to approach it like a yellow light. Learn how to recognize red flags on instinct.
