This is a very interesting and important topic! Perhaps another subcategory you could include in the series is fertility tracking/awareness? Understanding and tracking my own fertility and cycles really changed my life and made me feel much more in control. If you don’t want to include this, maybe I’ll make my own post (like a book report on TCOYF).

A lot of it is because in medical research they use men as much as possible, even when researching issues directly affecting women, like breast cancer. They think we’re just men with pesky hormones.

Okay — a book recommendation (though not as much about fertility as anti-fertility) This Is Your Brain On Birth Control. Truly eye opening.

Also, I’m curious as to whether or not your doctor recommended egg freezing. Mine was vehemently opposed to me doing it until I turn 30. Would love to hear different opinions as you’re younger than me and doing it

I'm very happy to see another future mother by choice. I'm sure there'd be a lot more women interested in this life style if they were aware it is a legitimate choice.

Even in this subreddit, a lot of women automatically assume that a woman rejecting the idea of having children with a man means that she's rejecting motherhood altogether, which is very disappointing.

Men can be a member of a family, but their evolutionary purpose is to be a vehicle for sperm and a reproductive assistant, not necessarily a second parent. Being a single mother by choice is very much possible and it is seems to be getting more popular.

My advice is that if you plan to wait, that you investigate painful periods. I had my son at 30 and had a challenging pregnancy. Afterwards my period pain became near constant pain. Eventually I was diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis. I lost my cervix, uterus, ovaries and part of my bowel. I only wanted one child so it hasn’t stopped me doing anything important but while I think freezing eggs and waiting until you’re ready is an idea worth exploring, I’d suggest a pelvic MRI now and again to make sure you’re healthy enough to carry the children you want.

This is very different advice to having children young. It never occurred to me in my twenties that my painful periods were a sign I had less time than other women.

I've frozen eggs myself, so let me know if you have any questions. I think I was fairly lucky, but I found it a fascinating and not particularly traumatic experience.

One initial point to make, although less to the OP than to any Brits reading this, is that over here there's a rule that you can only freeze eggs for 10 years. So there is an advantage to waiting a bit - you wouldn't want to freeze eggs at 25 and then be forced to use or lose them by 35. But! You COULD freeze them for 10 years, then thaw them and create embryos, then freeze them again for up to another 10 years. I think the law may change on these limits, because egg freezing technology has drastically improved and the law is considered to be very out of date. But you can't rely on this.
