-Asks you how you are and how your day was when you see him -Does little things for you completely unprompted (doing the dishes even if he’s the one who cooked the meal, for example) -Good relationship with his family -Has long lasting friendships and interesting hobbies -Knows how to cook for himself and maintain his living space -Makes plans with you before your schedule fills up (=recognizes your time is valuable) -Follows through on his goals

I guess they can initially seem like minor things when you look at them individually but I think they’re important for something long term!

Respects your boundaries. When you say or show you’re uncomfortable they don’t keep pushing or trying to trick and manipulate.

They apologize sincerely when needed. Not that bs apology most men give which pushes the blame to the woman.

Small, simple gestures that show he's paying attention and remembers things you tell him. Like he picks up your favorite candy when he goes to the gas station or something related to your interest like a book. Gifts with meaning and thought versus just throwing money thinking he's really doing something.

He's kind and respectful towards people even if he thinks they're beneath him like wait staff, parking lot attendants and women he doesn't want to sleep with. He's a guy that's nice not a nice-guy who's only nice to get some ass.

He has hobbies and good social relationships (friends, family, co-workers). A man with NO hobbies or friends is a huge red flag bc you'll literally end up becoming his everything which will put you in serious danger if you leave him.

Any behavior that shows that he knows you're the prize and that your time and attention are a privilege, that he wants to bring joy to your life.

Things that impressed me about my current boyfriend. Insisted on paying even though I offered to split. Payed for my girlfriends when we all went out on his own accord. Consistently made time for me and initiated being with me often. Affectionate. A good son to his family. Listened to me when I talked. Just overall blew me away and honestly still does.

If something bad happens in your life, they’ll offer or give the correct kind of support without being asked. For example, if there is a death in your family he may ask if he could send flowers. If you’re sick, he may have delivery bring you some food.

Has / demonstrates respect for a number of women in his life....his female co-workers, his sisters, his grandmother, the waitress where he takes you to eat. Even if they are home makers or are paid a low wage. (A trained monkey knows enough to say he loves his mom, he needs to go beyond that).

Does not ask your “n-count” or about your prior relationships unless it is to ensure you are single.

Insists on wearing a condom even if you are using separate birth control.

Asks you questions about yourself because he wants to get to know you and what interests you. If you are in a certain field and that field is in the news, mentions it to you (my friend is in linguistics and when Deborah Tannen cane out with a book that was in the news her now-H asked my friend about it. Turns out my friend is not in THAT field of linguistics, but it was still thoughtful that he tried....and she knew enough about the field to discuss the books findings).

Plans dates with your interests / likes in mind. Can think of ideas beyond coffee, drinks, dinner, movie.

Remembers small details about you (such as you like your coffee with sugar but no cream)

1) Makes an effort to see you/asks you out

2) Texts you or calls you daily

3) Takes you on dates which you'd find fun/interesting

4) Tells you how much he appreciates you

5) Helps you when you need help

6) Wants to take care of you when you aren't feeling well

7) You don't feel like you're constantly wondering what he's doing/where he is/who he's talking to

8) Treats you respectfully. Does not push you to do things you feel uncomfortable with.

9) Does not degrade other women. Has a good relationship with the women in his life (mother/sisters, etc.)
