If a man is discouraging your career and level up goals, telling you to stay near him/near home instead of following your dreams, that is an insidious form of control. He does not get to have say in these life decisions of yours, and you should be appalled any man would have the audacity and entitlement to try to have a say in these things. It is controlling behavior to try and limit your educational and career progress, or tell you not to pursue your dreams, or discourage you. They may mask it as "looking out for you" or "being rational", but make no mistake. You are the only one who gets to make these decisions in your life, and you should be prioritizing you best long-term interest because NO ONE ELSE will do that for you. Look out for yourself. If someone cares about you, what's best for you is going to be best for them at the end of the day.

Limiting your potential and trying to discourage your education/career/goals is the beginning of domestic abuse. No, it is not in your best interest to be compromising your goals, progress in life, and education for a man who wants you to stay small so that you don't outshine him. You are on to some BIG things in life, ladies. Do not ever let a man limit your potential. We ain't doing that in 2020 and beyond.

You will regret putting your education and career and dreams on hold for a man 100% of the time.

This is your one life to live how you want. Anyone who cares about you and loves you is going to support your dreams, even if they don't directly benefit from them. Don't forget this and don't be out here changing your whole 5 year plan or life vision for some guy. It's up to you to make sure you achieve everything you want to, don't get sidetracked. Also, ask yourself, why isn't your partner the one accommodating you? Are you stuck in a situation where his needs and wants outweigh yours?

Let's take this to another level: if you are limiting your own potential and doubting yourself, that is a form of self-sabotage and self-harm.

Just a daily reminder. Stay leveling-up all 2020, queens. πŸ’–
