I’m so thankful that you are back. I’ve missed you all so much!! I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the mods for what they do. It must be so hard to sift through vile comments from male lurkers and to get attacked by members as well must have been heartbreaking. I’m quite glad I missed the drama and I couldn’t see why happened myself but this post isn’t about the politics of it. I’ve said before that there’s a severe lack of women’s spaces online (and off) and that’s why we must take really good care of this one. While it was down I was able to see some of the other subs that claim to be similar and even one that pretends to be us and apparently some people actually fall for it. I even noticed that users had created similar user names to mods and frequent posters on here! It’s really bad out there!!! I’m here to learn but the feeling of community and sisterhood is an awesome bonus and it’s only possible because of the hard work of the mods. I’m not kissing ass here either (not trying to), just reminding people how hard it must be to keep something this amazing going against the patriarchy and the death threats that they receive simply because this space is terrifying to men. It undoes centuries of gaslighting and control. They will do anything they can to destroy it. So from a newbie, I just wanted to show my appreciation. As far as I can see the only requirements to be a member is to be female and to be willing to learn and to follow the rules. The rest of the world on and offline is already divisive enough.
