I hope I've picked the right flair, this is my first time posting an OP! (Exciting!! 😄)

I wanted to thank all of you ladies for inspiring me. I started therapy 4 weeks ago and going to the gym 3 weeks ago, and this is due in large part to you. Reading your stories of levelling up gave me the push I so desperately needed.

This probably belong to the FLUS, but FDS is the place that helped me before I realised there was a sister sub dedicated to levelling up (mods, do let me know if I need to delete this and post in FLUS instead).

I'd been stuck in a rut for a few years because I'd jumped from a relationship with a LVM to one with a suspected HVM (pure luck, I wasn't FDS when he and I met, but I was a good-ish place and being with my ex had taught me what I absolutely didn't want). The lack of a gap in between to find myself again after my ex made me lose sight of who I was, because I wanted to make things work with my fiancé instead focusing on me first when I needed to. So I just sort of slowly crashed, flailing like a baby bird leaning to fly with an injured wing.

Despite some physical health issues, things are on the up. The progress is slow and therapy is a difficult process as I have a lot more to deal with than I thought, but I'm ready to put in the hard work now (sooooo much crying, but I show up diligently each week with my tissues and whole toilet roll as back up). I'm willing to invest in myself, for my present and for my future. For the first time in 2-3 years, I'm feeling hopeful again, looking up at the light and not constantly down at the darkness of the pit I'd stumbled in. Each day/week, I try to make good choices (going to the gym, eating healthy food, going to bed early, sitting down to write/study writing) and I'm slowly formulating a plan for my future, breaking down my bigger goals into smaller, less overwhelming ones. Each little step gets me closer to the big goals.

This community has inspired me so much, and my creative juices are starting to flow again. You ladies have been so welcoming, you're hilarious, smart and full of good advice! This place showed me true sisterhood.
