That was so moving. 😢 This is why I firmly believe a HVM is not defined by money or social status, but by his sincere respect, love, and care for his partner and family, and his hard work and solid ethics. This man was truly born into poverty and oppression but dedicated his life to service of others, and to his enduring love for his wife.

This is so true what you say about someone not being defined by their money or social status..
I have had a cardiologist ask me out and the gas station attendant ask me out..
Here’s what I found out: the cardiologist asked me what I was going to wear to dinner, if I would send him pictures, and told me women that don’t wear make up are lazy, and wanted to know when I was going to stay the night.. the attendant asked me how my day was, told me I looked great in my work uniform lol, when I said I was tired at 3am standing in the gas station buying a monster with no makeup on he told me “you look beautiful every day even if you’re tired and without makeup”, he also told me.. “I’m never going to ask for your phone number because getting to see you every morning is the highlight of my day.”
Both people have a full time job. Both people have a car. Both people take pride in what they do. But both people did not treat me the same way. I picked the gas station attendant.
I start my MBA this winter; the cardiologist would just be a bad investment.

Guy I’m seeing (24 M) lives 3 hours away. I (22 F) was locked out of my car and I didn’t have triple A. He drove all the way to me so he could help me get my Keys out because he didn’t like me being stranded even if I’m just at home. If they want to they will. I also now have triple A

This is the one bit I struggle to hold onto sometimes. Because I did meet a really good guy who does all the right things, except he's never around.
I do come to the conclusion that is enough to be a "No" from me, but it's way trickier than leaving LVM. 🤷♀️

And even when they do something, if it’s only one gesture and not everyday things, it will never be enough. Emotionally stunted men tend to do one massive gesture and think theyve done diligence, like prince charming.
