There was a post recently here asking about it. I’m against it. In theory, it should work but the cards are always stacked against women whenever it comes to sex work. Very few women can actually come out of it without being severely traumatized. On top of them, many of women who choose (not the ones manipulated or forced) to do sex work are not savvy enough to actually get back in money what they sacrifice.

I don’t judge sex workers but I would never encourage a woman to go into this because it’s likely she won’t come out as the winner.

The biggest problem in my opinion is that there’s no accountability here. You can argue that this is a fair transaction and that everyone is on the same page, you can have dozens of arguments about feminism and about whether this is moral, etc. However, because there is no third party overseeing the transactional relationship, there’s no accountability for the man. There is a very high chance that you might be kidnapped, raped, hurt or not compensated correctly. And if these things happen to you, there is no system in which to hold the man accountable. Sex work is dangerous, which is why I never encourage women who have other options to go into it. It is absolutely necessary for some women and it can help them escape a bad situation if they don’t have any money. But even at a strip club (which might be safest and have the most accountability systems)where you have a big bouncer walk you to your car, there is a risk that one of your customers will stick around and decide to follow you home to hurt you.

The sex industry is horrific and vile. It is incredibly dangerous, and you'll be lucky to make it out without becoming a victim of sexual assault, physical assault, or stalking. It is mentally and emotionally exhausting. It will make you distrust men even more. Once you leave, it will be a part of your life that you will have to hide and lie about forever. Worst of all? You'll come out of it knowing that your dignity and integrity does have a price tag, and you'll know exactly what that price is.

I've known a lot of young women who turned to the sex industry when they were struggling. Not a single one of them would recommend it to anyone, unless it was literally a life or death situation. "It's better than being homeless, but only slightly," is a direct quote from a woman I used to know.

So from the point of view of someone who has been a sugar baby for less than a month: it is WAY, WAY more time and effort than you think it will be. We settled on £1000/month for meeting once a week. Dinner at a restaurant each meeting, no penetrative sex, seemed easy enough. But somehow the demands on my time and attention kept growing. I was working full-time and juggling that with his texts and even things like him buying me an outfit for our first date took up so much time that I quit after meeting once in person. He paid me for the whole month and we only ever kissed briefly and I still didn’t think it was worth it. [Edited to correct amount,l - I would never have bothered for £100!!]

No. This is prostitution. I suggest you think about the term "sex work." This is not a job, please don't do it. This is part of the cancerous creep of libfems.

The reason society has a negative view of what you call sex work is because it is inherently harmful to women. Please do some reading from former prostituted women. Rachel Moran is a good one to start with. I also recommend Gail Dines who is an expert on the effects of pornography (this would include cam girls.)

Yes, I'm being judgmental. "Sex work" is not empowering and being a sugar baby is only changing the language around what you are doing, not the reality.

If you can't see yourself being in a committed loving relationship with a guy you in no certain terms want him as a sugar daddy. Period. Just because he's willing to pay doesn't mean you change FDS.

There are sugar daddies who will pay you without wanting sexual favors. These are the types who like to feel that they are helping and contributing to the betterment of your life for your sake. Not something to throw back at you or demean you for.

There is a demographic of women who are happily paired in sugar relationships and if you play your cards right you can be one of them.

Don't ever settle for a LVM. It's the same story across all dating dynamics and platforms. Wait for a HVM.
