Hi everyone. I’m 18, going into college next year and new to FDS. There’s a really popular comedy podcast called “Call Her Daddy” that I started listening to, and that I have mixed feelings about. On the one hand, it’s a comedy podcast and maybe not meant to be taken super seriously. On the other, the “advice” they give can be really toxic imo. For example- in an episode about college, they say that girls who are “below a 7” on the hotness scale should put out in order to be invited to college parties. In other episodes, they’ve said that less attractive girls have to work extra hard in bed, that if you’re not exciting enough in bed you’ll get cheated on (the whole “if you’re not sucking his dick someone else is” thing) and etc.

Whenever I’ve brought this up with my friends (almost everyone I know that listens to this podcast loves it), they’ve responded with something like “yeah, it’s messed up but it’s true”, or “they’re just telling it like it is”, or so on. I think that the podcast is probably accurate about how many younger guys think, but I still think a lot of the advice that they give is damaging.

I guess I’m looking for reassurance that I’m not just being overly sensitive, and that podcast isn’t actually as “liberating” as others have said. But if any of you guys like the podcast or have a more positive take, I’m open to that too! Curious what more experienced FDSers think.

Edit: Thank you everyone for the helpful comments. I feel more confident in my initial impression and I probably won’t bother with this podcast anymore. It can be funny and many of my friends bond over it, but the toxicity isn’t worth it.
