As a non-American living in the US, I was (mostly) exposed to ethnic beauties as a child. It's fascinating to discuss beauty standards with my Southern white best friend. The influencers she idolizes are merely next-door-pretty to me, and it goes both ways. There's been multiple times people told me "So & so is STUNNING," to my genuine surprise. I could only see them as passable, not captivating or eye-grabbing. And I'm sure that's how many whites feel about me, as a POC!

Well I know I have a non-negotiable type because even with conventionally attractive celebrities that everyone raving as "extremely great looking" - if he isn't my type, I simply see him as normal-looking. And even if he is not conventionally attractive but is my type, he can made me blush by merely existing.

I agree with this. After growing up in suburban US, then living in a bunch of other countries, my preferences have changed a ton.

I am from south America. I really have a very marked "type". a boy with a good face, a good boyfriend you know?. ne of those who do not turn to look at another woman when they pass her!. examples of actors with that face: tom hardy, ryan gosling, luke wilson (when they were all young) haha i don't know why. hope someone understands me.

I think growing up in an intensely diverse environment has made me a bit of an outlier when it comes to types; like, I definitely have a type, but it's different for every race and the same features I find attractive for one man of a certain race are suddenly unattractive to me on a man from a different race and vice versa. So, basically I have a different type for every different ethnic group.
