I just wanted to thank you all for giving me the strength to walk away from a LVM I've been entangled with for a couple of months.

I should have known he was bad news when I realised he was a whopping 19 years older than me. But he seemed so much better than guys my age - gentlemanly, keeping regularly in touch, insisting to pay for dinner, respectful - that I got blinded.

Needless to say, the red flags started waving soon. He was supposedly separated from his ex but it turned out he'd been lying and he was still sleeping with her, and living in the same house. He was drunk almost every day. He kept repeating he was a "mentor" for me. It became evident that, while he treated me very well when we were together, I was at the bottom of his priority list - the side chick, essentially. He blew me off to go get drunk, ignored me for weeks when his ex visited. And so on, so forth.

The pickme still alive in my soul wants to feel hurt and stick around to enjoy the good times when we're together, which are really good.

And instead thanks to FDS, I booked a ticket and I'm moving to a beautiful town (I'm a digital nomad) with a bunch of friends, as well as two guys who have been courting me for some time. I'm walking away and I will never see him again.
