Hey y’all! Saw a post recently. Interested in your opinions.

And yes, if you go through my post history, you see my shitty relationship background 😂. Dated a dude that seemed great in the beginning, but sent me back into bad habits. Currently in a new relationship that feels looooooads better. Ask questions re. that if you want. Here’s the sitch:

Question: V-Day is coming up. First one with the new guy. My gift? Some freezer meals for the days he can’t devote the time to cooking solid healthy meals. He’s a grad student (I have mine already) and a full-time employee (lucrative career). I like cooking & sharing with people close to me. These would be meals specifically made to go in the freezer. I’m crafting the recipes. He’s purchasing the ingredients. We’re both going to be involved in the cooking & “packaging” process. Is this a problem? Is this too much like “wifey shit” or is this the “right” way to do these things?

I’ve only cooked for him as a date night (I like eating out, but not all the time. He’s got money and he’s willing to spend, but eating out isn’t always healthy or my preferred way he spend his money. I’d rather him invest. He only really goes out to eat with me and a couple of coworkers.) During this date night, we cooked together. We did the shopping together (chicken, etc. & he paid) and I took from my pantry (onions, seasonings, etc). He chopped, I stirred, etc. Otherwise, he has gotten leftovers from meals I cooked too much of (couldn’t fit it into my freezer, was worried it would go bad).

Each time, he sent me messages about how he enjoyed it. He told his friends where he got the food & they told me (once I met them) about how he talked about it and they were jealous.

He’s also cooked for me. Breakfasts at his house. Dinners during nights in. And, when we do go out, he pays for the meals and such.

For the special occasion of v-day, is this a FDS-friendly gift for my new dude? Or, am I being too much? He’s planning his own gifts which I know will include date nights, a movie, and a few other things as we are making a weekend of it.

Honestly, with the range of opinions on this sub, I’m just interest in hearing (given the described dynamic/circumstances) y’all opinions.

Edit: Definitely appears that the FDS agrees almost unanimously that this is considered “wifey shit” and goes against FDS principles. Thanks for entertaining my question and providing your thoughts!
