Our situation as women has always been questionable, to say the least. We have been dealing with unrealistic and unfair expectations, sexist stereotypes, being laughed at and not taken seriously in professional environments. We have been abused, raped, killed, neglected, gaslit, disrespected. And when we step up and demand respect and fairness, men will show how entitled they are by getting so mad that we say No to being raped that they will go online, hound women, send them rape and death threats, stalk them, or literally go out there and commit mass shootings.

However, no matter how much we struggle, most of us are still used to being docile, kind, understanding, empathetic. Our nurturer upbringing makes many of us react to men who commit mass-slaughterings of women with empathy and kindness. When men are so deranged they make 10 fake accounts to spam your inbox calling us names and sending us threats, we laugh it off, as if we are not dealing with terrorists. Women will get abused, battered, disrespected, and downplay the issue and still stay with the man. Most of us will draw back and say "No, I don't actually hate men", "Yes you're right, not all men". Most of us will comply.

This is not beneficial for our cause at all, and there is such a thing as toxic compliance, or toxic passivity. Because in a man's world, being assertive, being confident like any mediocre man, being loud like a narcissist being called out for his actions is what we need to achieve in order to be heard. And yes, I do believe in an eye for an eye, and making people have a taste of their own medicine. As someone who has been bullied throughout her entire school life I can tell you that not ignoring is what made them stop, but the moment I got up and decided to beat them up.

Anything else they will interpret as an incentive that they may continue with their behaviour, which is harmful for our cause, and throws the rest of us under the bus. We need to call out not only toxic, abusive men, but toxic passive and complying women as well.
