This is a hard lesson to learn for many of us who were raised without boundaries and to be people pleasers. It takes every will power we have to change this about ourselves. It’s lifelong work. I don’t believe most women choose to be this way. It’s conditioned behavior. But, man, once you break free. A whole new world awaits. It’s scary but it’s so worth it!

Totally! I was conditioned to be nice and polite and with manners to the point that speaking up and standing up for myself felt rude somehow. I spent the early - mid part of my 20's being a pick me and went through an abusive relationship before finally waking up and smelling the bullshit! I feel so amazing now!

Well maybe that's the problem, sweetheart. If you carry yourself as an insecure easy lay, don't expect to be taken seriously. Being a people pleaser doormat will get you used either everyday, or being put aside as a convenient booty call. Because you never learned one important complete sentence: ”No.” If you let yourself be a pushover, expect to be pushed. In all aspects of life. One of the most important lessons in woman's life is growing a spine, saying no and refusing to take any shit anymore. You're worth more and can survive just fine, even better, without the need for constant validation, especially from trashy men.

Too nice = Overperforming, leading, pursuing, mothering.
I wish they wouldn't use the word "nice". Too many women misinterpret that as a directive to be bitchy and overentitled. You can be perfectly nice and still lean back and not overperform, and let him pursue you.

He could have that conversation with his gf privately instead of publicly putting her down to compliment a woman he probably doesn’t even know.
