Being shy is their excuse for being low effort. They'll even go to the extent to say women should ask them out for a change. Lol ok, good luck to both parties for that. The guy will feel flattered but turn the date down because he wasn't into her. Or he'll go out with her and expect to go 50/50 because it wasn't his idea. Worse yet, they'll end up in a relationship where he's extremely low effort and she eventually resents him for not doing enough.

I asked my bf once what he would have thought if I'd asked him out. He first said "probably wouldn't have gone out," and when I pressed him on it he said "I wouldn't have been all that interested in you. Most of the girls who do that kind of thing are needy, controlling, and a bit crazy. They do all the work." That's from a not-shy guy.

And the "shy guys" do nothing but make you wonder if they're interested in you. You never know where you stand with them, do they like you, what are the "signs" they like you etc. Overthinking is what you'll do with the shy guys.

I think there are some of them who ARE too shy or scared to ask a woman out.... but think about the psychology of that. He could surely overcome the fear if he really tried, but he's clearly lazy as a personality type. Cowardly, or just socially off to the point where it would be embarassing to have him around and introduce him to your friends and fam. Take it as a blessing, if he can't muster up whatever he needs to ask you out

YEP. If you say this in any of the regular dating or advice subs you'll get yelled at by a bunch of guys who I'm guessing are shy/anxious/lazy/entitled and dream of having their perfect waifu magically ask them out while they put zero effort in. It's absolutely the truth though. If a worthwhile HV guy is really that interested he'll make his move. (I appreciate that there are some cases of extremely shy men out there who would genuinely struggle with approaching a woman they like, but that's a situation that calls for therapy and self-improvement - it won't be helped by them avoiding the underlying issue and having a girl come to them rather than them learning to have a normal human interaction.)
