I think it's all the more reason to try and change. Every liberation movement has faced resistance and setbacks. It's what makes modern day feminism a complete joke, they say they are 'fighting' for equality, but they aren't met with any resistance from the status quo, they are the status quo.

But I think this is self explanatory. This can't change unless people are willing to try and change it. But that's not going to happen if every effort is sabotaged before it can get off the ground by defeatist skepticism.

I just randomly found my way here, and, wow, is this sentiment more relevant now than ever.

I just watched two people in two days try to discuss misandry on r/changemyview - both posts were deleted within 12 hours and one account was deleted entirely.

I spent some time on r/DeepThoughts, only to find that a similar sentiment had a tendency to warp the discussion around itself.

I jumped to r/thinkatives, which initially promised to be more open-minded, only to find myself being variably attacked and mocked by feminist trolls.

These sorts of people are incredibly dominant on Reddit, and for that matter on the internet as a whole. Although I must conclude that the reason they are able to hold onto their unjust power is by precisely the sort of bullying you reveal here. I look forward to the day when this sort of injustice ceases being such a popular passtime.
