You may agree or not agree with mandatory paternity testing at birth (or sooner), as of now I personally tend to agree but I will concede that there is a large absence of data that would help men and women recognize the impact of paternity fraud and sympathize with the reasons revolving such a measure. More data would also help to study human behaviour and perhaps even affirm that it would actually be unhelpful or even harmful to have mandatory testing, I am open to that possibility.

As of now, I have found some data affirming that in victims of infidelity, suicide tendencies (and probably other mental health issues) tend to rise, but little to no data specifical to men issues has ever been produced to track mental health of individuals after infidelity, discovery of paternal fraud, economic distress due to long term child support etc. Please correct me if I am wrong.

There has been a post in the r/BestOfRedditorUpdates where there have been some discussions about paternity tests.

As usual these threads provoke deep emotional responses and gain a lot of visibility, the post itself is not very interesting imo as I was more interested in discussion about the pros and cons of mandatory paternity testing. In particular some women (perhaps the majority) claim that this measure is an attack on women as it would blanket label them as cheaters and that other reasons are just a "cop out". To the point of saying that such measures would also kill women as proof of cheating would enrage men who of course then ends up killing women (because blanket labeling all men as potential killers is fine by the way). Of course, I have seen no woman mention the importance of mental health of the father nor of the child (unless it was the mother who was killed..).

This is my response to the user claiming such facts, and mind you, I also think paternity testing should only become mandatory if all bad and good scenarios can be managed for all genders and ages, but the emotional response of some people make discussions and grasping for rights pretty much impossible. In this case, every father should be 100% confident and safe in knowing that his child is his child imo, just like the mother.

What are your opinions on this topic? Could I have made for better arguments?
