I lost my wife to breast cancer when I was 49. Before she passed she told me she wanted me to move on. I replied who wants an out of shape, balding almost 50 year old nerd. She replied you're a good father, you have a good job, own your house & car, am a nice guy and have all your teeth. I thought she was joking -- she wasn't. Long story short, at 50+ at least I can now be the one to be choosy (I go for personality first anyway).

My first relationship was with a 29 year old. It was fun but NEVER. AGAIN. I'm too old to deal with their emotional crap.

As to marriage, I don't see myself getting married again. A committed relationship? Sure. But even if I did remarry there would be one heck of a prenup so my children would inherit what my wife left for them. I would make sure a 2nd wife/life partner was taken care of, but the kiddies come first.
