Women mostly drive each other crazy about unrealistic beauty standards in an eternal arms race to gain access to attractive and high-status men + extra validation from lesser men and other women. If they weren't so hungry for that they'd have no reason to be as obsessed about their appearance as they are. Not being fat and applying a bit of makeup is virtually all it takes for women to be widely considered attractive by the opposite gender. And these two things are doable by literally any woman.

Meanwhile men are judged very harshly by women. They think most of us are ugly. And most of the things we're judged for are outside our control like

height
hair
bone structure
voice
penis size

In addition, we're also under much more pressure to be rich, ambitious, athletic, confident/dominant, witty, funny and good at sex. These things take a lot of effort for most men.

Yes, that's an actual argument that I've had fielded multiple times. Of course, it never occurs to them that you could flip the argument and have barbies be the same power fantasy, just a subvert rather than overt one. Remember, nothing can ever be bad for men or make men feel bad, and if it does, it's their own fault so women don't need to be worried about it anyways. Never mind that male standards of attractiveness would require years of perfect weightlifting, diet, and lots of steroids, while women's standards simply require half an hour of exercise every other day and not eating a lot. Yeah, real hard.

That's because when young boys see He-Man, they see someone they can aspire to become.

Muscles can be built, intelligence can be fostered and developed. Hard work can create an Upright, strong, capable man.
