Yea alienated from their children’s lives forced to pay for a child they can’t see and raise. Four days a month visitation. O he is a deadbeat even though he is not allowed to see his kids. Majority of dads aren’t deadbeats.

Do you live on some sort of alternate Planet Earth where divorced fathers are considered superheros and amazing gods worthy of worship while single mothers are treated like dogshit under your shoe? Because that is the exact opposite of actual reality here in Non-Bizarro World.

If women don't want deadbeat fathers they should stop fucking deadbeats.
[–]hrm08948 points9 points10 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Dead beat fathers are to blame, but you know why I blame single mothers even more? Because they're the gatekeepers of sex. They get to choose from their dozens of options who they want to have a baby with; they don't even have to do much work since they get approached by countless men on a regular basis. So when a woman makes a poor mating choice and decides to fuck a badass thug over the normal family man, then who's fault is it really?
[+]robert-5252-9 points-8 points-7 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Both, the womans fault for choosing a deadbeat father, and the mans fault for making someone a single mother...

Trump is good, but he isn't a saviour. He's a defense against the worst women can try on us.
In the end of the day, they're all vulnerable to women's strategies. There's no way to close Pandora's box, and if anyone tried, women would vote overwhelmingly for a hardcore feminist ideologue as revenge.

China has a much bigger economy than the us
Its GDP is double the USA, and its trade is expanding while America is a decline
Additionally, wages in China are now matching average American salaries in most Chinese cities - the average Chinese person working in any city in China with over 5 million people now makes 35,000usd(245,000 RMB) that's about 800 million people in China now - the western regions are so weak then bring down the overall average

The inflation rate for the United States has been 2% or less for nearly 50 years; it is one of the lowest inflation rates in the world
The inflation rate is so low is a big reason why wages have DECLINED in that same period- inflation benefits debt holders, so people with mortgages or student loans would help tremendously if us dollar had some minor increase in inflation that would lead to a similar wage increase, thus making the debts easier to pay

According to the Single Parent Success Foundation, a national nonprofit that encourages educational opportunities for single parents: • 63 percent of suicides nationwide are individuals from single-parent families. • 75 percent of children in chemical dependency hospitals are from single-parent families. • More than half of all youths incarcerated in the U.S. lived in one-parent families as a child.

These aren't the same stats OP posted and these also refer to "single-parent", meaning it could be a single-dad as well.
This post is bullshit. Yes, kids with single mothers are going to be more likely to have issues. It's incredibly important to have a strong male presence in your life while you are developing.
But to attribute 70%+ of society's problems to single moms is at best ignorant and at worst purposely misleading.
[–]oprahsbuttplug-1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Yeah because everyone knows dad's get awarded custody like 90% of the time in divorce court.
The post is accurate enough and that is just one set of stats from a cursory Google search. If you think the post is bullshit then go find something that disputes it because I found evidence of it being true.
Yes, kids with single mothers are going to be more likely to have issues.
Yeah like 70% more likely lol.
[–]takishan0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
Your opinion on this issue is irrelevant to actual facts of the matter.
Your source is not evidence for OP's claim.
My opinion is irrelevant, you're right. Because that statement is a fact and bold letters and emphasis won't change what is fact.
If you genuinely believe 70% of crime is because of single mothers, you're deluded. Explain why do we have less crime today, even though we have more single mothers than before?
Of course, this is common knowledge but here's an article about the rise of single mothers and here's an wiki article about the drop in crime..
[–]oprahsbuttplug0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The numbers are accurate dude you just disagree. Congrats You're the flat earther of social issues. You're wrong, end of story
Here's a website that has the stats and the sources. Enjoy your reading material.
https://thefatherlessgeneration.wordpress.com/statistics/
Black people commit 56% of the violent crime in America and 60%+ of them are raised by single mothers. It's not a stretch that most crime is committed by people from single mother homes. You're either a lost redditor or willfully ignorant.
[–]takishan1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Are you trolling? I'm genuinely asking because it doesn't seem like you are capable of acknowledging what I am saying.
Let me try to go over it really simply and clearly.
Here are OP's claims:
70% of prison inmates are raised by single mothers 70% of juvenile offenders are raised by single mothers 70% of drug addicts are raised by single mothers 71% of high school dropouts are raised by single mothers
70% of prison inmates are raised by single mothers
70% of juvenile offenders are raised by single mothers
70% of drug addicts are raised by single mothers
71% of high school dropouts are raised by single mothers
What was I saying in my original comment? Here's my quote, word for word "These aren't the same stats OP posted" Basically, the article you posted (this one) has these claims:
• 63 percent of suicides nationwide are individuals from single-parent families. • 75 percent of children in chemical dependency hospitals are from single-parent families. • More than half of all youths incarcerated in the U.S. lived in one-parent families as a child.
Do you see how they are not the same? They are different. They're different numbers. They're different claims. They talk about different things. Do you understand?
Now, why did you post the article in the first place? Well, because somebody asked if anybody had a source for the statistics. Your post was wrong because it has nothing to do with the original post. I don't care if you put your comment in bold or italics or throw in emojis... it does not change the reality that you posted something that IS NOT a source to OPs post.
Another point. I asked you a question you completely ignored. I will post it again:
If you genuinely believe 70% of crime is because of single mothers, you're deluded. Explain why do we have less crime today, even though we have more single mothers than before? Of course, this is common knowledge but here's an article about the rise of single mothers and here's an wiki article about the drop in crime.
Of course, this is common knowledge but here's an article about the rise of single mothers and here's an wiki article about the drop in crime.
Please answer that question. Why is the crime rate lower than it ever has been, if the number of single-mothers is the highest it ever has been? If you can adequately answer this question, then I will admit I am wrong and be on with my day. However, I have a feeling you cannot answer this question, because this is a bullshit premise.

http://prospect.org/article/consequences-single-motherhood
Does marriage matter?
"Some people believe that single fathers are better able to cope with family responsibilities because they have considerably more income, on average, than the mothers. However, our evidence shows that children in single-father homes do just as poorly as children living with a single mother."
It's and interesting read but the content is 'slightly' dated. 90's.
I was particularly interested in the stats about divorced and remarried parents, where evidence showed that even if remarried, the children are as likely to be as disadvantaged as a single parent home.
Edit: Also an interesting thing to note that some may consider controversial is the data that showed non-white families, as being less disadvantaged than white families, that had the family structure disrupted.

If they let fathers financially abort, women would stop having unwanted children. In this rare instance gender equality would actually benefit society.

I'll keep saying this, imagine when male birth control becomes a thing. "My body, my choice" won't be a thing anymore. If you're not a idiot the minute you're old enough to legally get male birth control you get it and you don't have to worry about your gf/so/one night stand "forgetting her birth control". If you're married your wife has to beg you to get off birth control and she can't sabotage it either. "My semen, my choice" will be the future.
For those wondering, the closest male birth control I can see becoming a thing acts like a vasectomy but instead of cutting tubes it blocks it with a gel so its reversable.

Totally missed that lol. It should be noted that it's already possible to get a reversable vasectomy btw. The basically can pinch off the tubes and put a little clamp around them. It does have a higher failure rate compared to permanent vasectomy, but ifnyou do eventually want to have kids and dont want to pay to have your jizz frozen it's a good option.

Nah, it wouldn't be enough... you'd also have to entirely END the "financial incentive" coming from the quasi-socialist/feminist welfare state.
A huge portion of single mothers don't get ANYTHING from their "baby daddies"... but the state steps in and "provides" (via a whole array of freebies, assistance, & services...with of course women perennially demanding MORE of same).
If the system actually allowed fathers to "financially abort" then those demand would simply grow MORE intense and insistent (and politicians, seeing an opportunity to exchange "benefits" for votes, would readily accommodate those demands {as indeed they already do; but the pace would quicken}).
Meanwhile of course -- to "pay" for those benefits/votes -- new/higher taxes would be imposed on men (and via back-door exceptions would NOT effectively apply to most females).
[–]generalissimo_jones1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The key i think is severely curtailing the franchise. It should only be available to those who own property or have done national service and who have a high school education or equivalent qualifications or above.
[–]DWShimoda0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
As I have heard others phrase it voters need to have "skin in the game."
Much of the problem of course is not simply the "mechanics" of who can or cannot vote (though I do believe that enlarging the franchise -- especially to include women -- was both a mistake, AND a deliberate strategy of the socialists {of various stripes, whether "New Dealers" or "NSDAP'ers" or any/all of the "Marxists"}}...
But rather is a philosophical (and yes theological) "worldview" problem.
As for the "have a high school education"; don't delude yourself, such a system as that is (and already long has been) thoroughly gamed/subverted, moreover the very notion of a mandated (especially compulsory, "nationally uniform"*) education system entirely undermines the very notion/value of voting: it creates a quasi-mono-crop of drones, all then susceptible to the same/similar propaganda manipulation.
* How could one possibly use it as a "standard" or prerequisite for something like voting if there is not some substantial "uniformity" to it, imposed upon it? And the instant you do that, you now have a mechanism for ALTERING the worldview of the voting population (indoctrinating/brainwashing them ALL in a relatively "uniform" way)... thus any "attack" upon the society will be aimed at infiltrating & gaining control over that system.

That pic is exactly what it's like dating in "forward-thinking" hot spots like Seattle, the Bay Area, Austin, Chicago etc, where every woman you meet is both a "strong, independent woman" but a complete disaster at life. Don't forget that life is a series of decisions, and what you decide at any moment in time reverberates into how your life plays out for sometimes years afterwards.
There are 3 things to look out for and verify, and make sure you do boots on the ground research for yourself, rather than believe what she says. Actually go there multiple times, ask the hard questions and make the hard decisions once you've gotten enough information.
"What's her relationship to her family like?" - Neglect, abuse, daddy issues, molestation, severe bullying - you run, brother. Run like the fucking wind.
"What's her living space look like?" - if it's a shithole, that's what they'll turn your domain into once you take them in. Can they cook, clean, or otherwise help you maintain a stable home for you and (if you decide) your kids? If not, this isn't a good match.
"What's her car look like?" - This is the most expensive item anybody owns. If it's a torn up piece of garbage, that's exactly what will happen to your favorite things because they didn't work to get it, so they don't have any respect for it. Your prized possessions are now her free toys she's entitled to destroy because she'll treat it with the reverence she does with their own things.
Choose carefully, bros.

I'm with you if it's the latter to some extent, but walking away completely sounds bananas. I'm advocating smarter choices and still believing that good women are out there.
The best girls are few and far between but you can't find one if you don't play. One has to maintain the fortitude to realize and excise a bad match when you see one.

You know an awful lot of women I've encountered are like that, where it looks like the aftermath of WW3. I did some wiring modifications in a flat that a friend of mine owns. I actually knew the woman who lived there sort of and there were piles of clothes with mold growing in them and rotting food down the back of a cupboard and behind the bed. It took more time clearing stuff out of the way to get up the floorboards and put a few wiring runs and spur and 2 sockets in. I have no idea how people can live like that but she is always whoring it up on Instagram.
My sister is the same way and her friends also seemed to be similar when i was growing up.

I'm curious about what the numbers would be for single fathers; since the 30% that are left probably include being raised by a mother and a father as well. The numbers are probably remarkably low. Then again single fathers being rare since "only a woman is able to raise children" doesn't help.
[–]DWShimoda4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You also have to keep in mind that THOSE stats are "aggregate" figures from a couple of decades (in the past) when single mother-led households were a much smaller fraction of the population.
Meaning that they were even MORE "overrepresented" than present[current year] rates of "single sMotherhood" would make it seem.
To wit: if some demographic category is only 1/5th of the population, but then creates (well) over 2/3 of the people* in those circumstances... then what can we as a society look forward to (a decade or two hence) when that "origin" demographic has becomes 1/2 or more of the population?
* Add in that only about HALF of the offspring of such households -- the males -- end up in most of those circumstances... the other half (the female offspring) get a "free pass" on many of them. (And yes I would say that has ALSO included the "drug addicts"... not because women don't become drug addicts, but because females are far more likely to be accommodated by the medical establishment {and then paid for via government "assistance" programs} in their "drug seeking" behaviors... IOW they are ENABLED to do it via "legal/prescription" medications rather than "illegal" substances).

"I am a STRONG and INDEPENDENT WUMUN"!! "I don't need no man to raise my kids".
[–]Gcarney170 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It’s sad because a lot of them have this mindset that men aren’t suited to raise kids even though it’s proven that having both a man and woman raise the child gives the best outcome.

I was raised by a rich single mother but regardless single parenthood is a fucked up way to raise a child
I’d say the biggest downside to single parenthood is the child being emotionally and mentally disadvantaged in comparison to the others.if I could redo things I would take being raised in an apartment by a family together compared to a single parent mansion.

As a man that was raised by a single mother, I agree with this. Life was hard getting this far. Knowledge is freedom.

I feel as though we are stronger for it because we now know we’ll never make the same mistakes as our parents.

True. I wouldn't want my kids to have to struggle the way I did, therefore no kids.

The funny thing is I know a bunch of single mothers who just got fucked up after high school and drank their way into pregnancy and now are stuck with a child. It’s honestly not fair to the kid at all having a dumb broad mother who was too stupid to choose a suitable father.

I'm of the 30% of men raised by single mothers who didn't fall into these traps and I still don't think it's a good idea.
Oh, and you should add higher risk of mental illness and higher risk of suicide to the list.

Also imagine my shock.
The thing is though is that those statistics are also the statistical percentage of men who kill themselves, abuse drugs etc.
I would make the argument that it's not the presence of just the mom but a combination of the absence of a dad and usually a revolving door or men the mom brings around.
Think for a moment about how horrible the separation anxiety and abandonment issues must be for a boy to grow up with the person who made him at least half of what he is. Nevermind the abuse that goes with single motherhood usually physical but also sometimes sexual because the mom can't pick someone who isn't a sexual predator.
It would be an absolute Christmas miracle if a child made it to adulthood without major mental illness given those circumstances.

Dunno but I'm one. I've had sole custody of my daughter since she was 3 months old. Shes seven now. The fact that I'm in a rare situation should tell you something about the amount of single mothers to single fathers to begin with.

Single mothers
https://youtu.be/5WgMdmgHHTE The following video is from fox news on children raised by single mothers. Ive listed below some stats and citations from various sources on single mothers. What other sources do yall have confirming this?
Confused identities. Boys who grow up in father-absent homes are more likely that those in father-present homes to have trouble establishing appropriate sex roles and gender identity. Source: P.L. Adams, J.R. Milner, and N.A. Schrepf, Fatherless Children, New York, Wiley Press, 1984.
Fatherly influence. Children with fathers at home tend to do better in school, are less prone to depression and are more successful in relationships. Children from one-parent families achieve less and get into trouble more than children from two parent families. Source: One Parent Families and Their Children: The School's Most Significant Minority, conducted by The Consortium for the Study of School Needs of Children from One Parent Families, co sponsored by the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the Institute for Development of Educational Activities, a division of the Charles F. Kettering Foundation, Arlington, VA., 1980
Disturbing news: Children of never-married mothers are more than twice as likely to have been treated for an emotional or behavioral problem. Source: U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, National Center for Health Statistics, National Health Interview Survey, Hyattsille, MD, 1988
Fatherless aggression: In a longitudinal study of 1,197 fourth-grade students, researchers observed "greater levels of aggression in boys from mother-only households than from boys in mother-father households." Source: N. Vaden-Kierman, N. Ialongo, J. Pearson, and S. Kellam, "Household Family Structure and Children's Aggressive Behavior: A Longitudinal Study of Urban Elementary School Children," Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology 23, no. 5 (1995).
That crowd: Children without fathers or with stepfathers were less likely to have friends who think it's important to behave properly in school. They also exhibit more problems with behavior and in achieving goals. Source: Nicholas Zill, C. W. Nord, "Running in Place," Child Trends, Inc. 1994.
Violent rejection: Kids who exhibited violent behavior at school were 11 times as likely not to live with their fathers and six times as likely to have parents who were not married. Boys from families with absent fathers are at higher risk for violent behavior than boys from intact families. Source: J.L. Sheline (et al.), "Risk Factors...", American Journal of Public Health, No. 84. 1994.

quick statistics 101: to show correlation you have to compare those 70/71% to the total amount of people that are raised by single mothers. Something like: "20% of the total population are raised by single mothers, but they make up 70% of prison inmates" would show that being raised by a single mom has a bad effect on children. On the other hand, a statement like: "90% of the total population are raised by single mothers, but they make up 70% of prison inmates" would mean that being raised by a single mother has a good effect

I think that's why God involved two people in parenting at first place. Because it not a one-person job. Single mother or single father, both leave a huge hole in a child's personality.

Single mothers should be prosecuted. Unless her boyfriend/husband was killed in combat or something like that, single mothers should go to jail. If a woman is so irresponsible that she can’t keep her child’s father under the same roof with his child then she needs to go jail.
Idk about jail but mandatory parenting classes for sure.

what is the cause
How about the 50% divorce rate within 5 years? 90% within 10? Or the low-low 7% chance that in a divorce the father will have custody?
Nah.... couldn't be women. Got to be those big bad men leaving heir kids.
Uh huh.

I think societal factors are a much larger contributor than genetics could ever hope to be.
[–]Sir_manalot9 points10 points11 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You have a good point, although the way you word it makes it seem like it is men's fault that women only want to breed with these types of men.
Besides physical strength and manipulation, many Chads (not all) are actually genetically inferior.
They aren't smart, talented, skilled or actually good at the things they say they are good at.
Which is why they generally get several women pregnant and abandon them right away.
Because they do not have the talents or skills to provide anyway and it would be better to maximize the amount of offspring because they have no faith in there own genes.
Think of how rabbits breed, they have tons of children because many of them end up dying off.
So applying that logic to this type of Chad, having six kids means that there is a chance one might actually have the talents to succeed instead of just being able to talk big.
While a rich Chad only needs one or two kids, because he knows each of his children will succeed. So he just conserves his seed and aims for a top tier women to breed with.
[–]Gcarney173 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Chads are only suited for the old caveman days. We don’t actually need big “alpha” males for anything at all in today’s society. Most of them are stupid as shit anyways.
[–]DWShimoda2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
But what is the cause?
Women are -- BTW nearly always by their OWN admission at some point in time -- utterly and completely clueless/inept at parenting older children, particularly boys.

Fuck you people who think all single mothers are trash. You don't know anything about life.
I'm wondering where you saw those percentages and confused one with 100%......
Just because you may be the exception to the rule doesnt mean there arent 1000s of stories to contradict yours.
