I agree. That a man his overall position on the dating market (his Dating market value (DMV)), regularly plays a role on his decision what dating lifestyle to choice.
Not many men, can be the Top 20% or 10% or whatever of men, in DMV. Because most men, aim to maximize their DMV to impress the ladies, so it's competitive as fuck. By default, most men will fall in the average catagory. Also plenty things one can do nothing or little about, determine ones DMV position (such as: short height, looks basis to work with (genes), intelligence, lack of personality traits and skills to become rich provider, etc..).

I see, now wrong in quitting. Because one doesn't want to, or can't, enter the top 10% of men DMV group, the only type of men whom might have a more decent time or less hard time in dating.
