About hour ago my employer was informed, that I'm an active member of "the hate movement" known as MGTOW. I will probably lose my job, because as I was told it will be treated as "intentional misconduct".

If you do get a warning or fired, I think it is your moral duty to become a living nightmare to that company. File a complaint with the department of labor, contact occupational health and safety, contact police, contact lawyers. Get every possible government organization going after that company. Your job is not done until the boss commits suicide or the company goes under.

Here's my take. They're probably trying to gauge your reaction. If it's true that some anonymous tip called you "an active member of the hate movement known as MGTOW," they probably don't have the foggiest idea what it is about, why they should care, or what--if anything--you actually have to do with it.

So they might be trying to act all serious about it to see what you will do (confess, resign, plead your case) so to inform what they will do (shrug it off, hold a hearing, summarily dismiss you, call the police, give you a raise and a bonus, who knows?).

For all they know this could be a prank or a jealous ex who is out for revenge, making shit up. One thing for sure is that people just don't up and fire good employees based on some unsolicited phone call or email. If people would go through this much trouble to dox you, they would go through the trouble of faking the information too.

Besides, if this sort of "tip" was the result of doxing, it is in violation of numerous terms of services, privacy policies and general nettiquete. Nefarious methods are generally not credible sources, especially when they are leveled against such small fry (no offense).

Depending on the method and applicable law, what this "anonymous source" did to discover your identity and your employer could be illegal for all you know (and all they know). And they don't want any part of that.

So stay frosty. Call a lawyer if you must. But all I can say is keep cool.

i cant believe that it is their side that is doing that. i thought for sure wed have all the computer nerds.

but then again running to mommy because billy said something mean is a woman tactic. men suck it up. women cry like bitches. i just dont understand why women are never, never, never called out on their behaviour. how glorious it would be to say whatever you want and never have anything but some angry internet comments to deal with. imagine if we wrote books like dworkin. wed be flogged in the streets

and if I was an employer, and one of these internet sjws phoned, i would hang up. i think eventually people will just get tired of them getting outraged by every candy wrapper and tv commercial and just start ignoring them.

I don't see how they could fire you. That would likely be illegal in the US. I'd definitely see a lawyer if I was fired from a career type job. What you do with your time is your business. I'd just say that you don't know anything about it and just shrug it off. Just say they must have you confused with someone else.
