There's nothing radical or new about this, indeed it's the bedrock of feminism since the 60s, get rid of fatherhood, go back to slutting around and harems.
That's literally what feminism IS, not some 'radical proposal'.

Feminism is very closely linked to Marxism. They want the benefits of men without the responsibility on their end.
The two are part of the same problem.
[–]RoboMandrake5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
In a deeper sense, the benefits of being a man stem from actually being a man. The capabilities, sense of adventure, logic and reasoning. Without these qualities, wishful thinking will not transform the parasitic and lack-luster female (unicorns excepted, of course) into anything resembling an actual man. These capabilities also come with responsibilities - and the dress-up-and-make-believe crowd are ill equipped for either. A case of a group being unhappy with the hand they were dealt.

Yeah no shit. Single mothers and poverty.
Communism requires everyone to be equally poor. Except the political class of course. Their butter arrives on time.
“Feminism” will exostbwhen everyone is powered to the abilities of the stupidest woman. That’s how commies work. They can’t raise people up, so everyone has to be punished down. Except their children of course.
But commie idiots love equality and slavery and tyranny. Makes their retardation happy.

Story time.
I dated a delusional feminist once (didn't realize she was a feminist until later).
She was approaching 40 years old and she had the worse case of baby rabies I could imagine. Having children was literally all she could talk about. All her friends had children at various ages and she would talk about how cute they all were. She had all these plans for how she was going to raise her children. She wanted to have 5 children. Five, starting at age 40. And she wanted to go to law school and start a new career.
I should mention she was *very attractive*. She was separated from her husband who was a handsome, wealthy doctor. So she was used to the good life. And she wanted more of it, and thought she could do better without her rich husband. A classic alpha widow. So her grand plan to do better without him was to go to law school and become a rich successful lawyer, but she also wanted to have 5 children -- and all this starting at age 40.
I was beside myself at this point.
Then I asked how she thought she would have enough time to raise all these children and go to law school at the same time. It took her a moment to think about it and with a straight face she said her mother would help out. Like it was just so obvious this grand plan of hers to have a large family and become a lawyer and start a law business was all going to work.
And to top it off, not once did she talk about having a husband. Nuts. Absolutely fucking nuts. It didn't even enter her mind that she would probably need to find a husband that shares her grand vision, or she would have to find 5 baby daddies willing to knock her up one after another before she hits menopause.
Long story short, she is now 45, childless, and husbandless, and has probably hit menopause or incapable of having children.

Feminism has always been about eradicating the West by destroying families, allowing the woman to do everything possible to destroy the relationship and enslave the man with the help of the state, and forcing the children to be at the mercy of the woman and the state without being able to be protected from these by their dad.

She basically, proposes a system where the whole community takes responsibility for raising a born baby/child. Aka, me. Aka, I'm being forced to pay and spend time/effort for the raising of other men (and women) their children. Forced cuckery. I can already see the results; Women making babies with attractive men (whom gets of the hook paying wise), and I/us (average dude) left to pick up the tab. (I know it's already the case to an decent extend, through taxation and wellfare programms for single moms).
To quote article: "She imagines a future where the labor of making new human beings is shared among all of us, “mother” no longer being a natural category, but instead something we can choose." " That means caring for each other not in discrete private units (also known as nuclear households), but rather within larger systems of care that can provide us with the love and support we can’t always get from blood relations—something Lewis knows all too well. "Her radical proposition is that we practice “full surrogacy” by abolishing the family. That means caring for each other not in discrete private units (also known as nuclear households), but rather within larger systems of care that can provide us with the love and support we can’t always get from blood relations"
Feminism is communism. Feminism CAN NOT SURVIVE WITHOUT IT. WOMEN CAN NOT SURVIVE WITHOUT IT.
"Nuclear households create the infrastructure for capitalism, passing wealth and property down family trees, concentrating it in the hands of the few at the top of our class hierarchy."
I swear they can't see more than 2 feet in front of their face. She doesn't want to have to depend on one man, she wants to depend on everyone and somehow thinks there won't be any bosses (or rather, she thinks she'll be one of them).
"She’s concerned with much bolder possibilities: In Lewis's utopian future, the family as we know it no longer exists. Everyone, regardless of gender, is a surrogate; we mother each other."
Imagine this... fat feminist takes a couple useless degrees, is broke, no man, probably wants children and wants everyone to take care of her and the child. And what about the men? Who knows. The article goes way off the rails and rambles on about who knows what and a bunch of personal stories about how she thinks her dad is an asshole.
Of course you can't have a 'feminist' future without abolishing the family. It's the last place the average man has any position of value in his personal life.
Women CAN NOT compete with men. If they could, they wouldn't need to hamstring/get rid of us. If you're in a group of campers and a bear attacks, you don't have to be the fastest camper, you just have to be faster than the slowest camper. And what is the slowest camper going to do? Try and trip the other campers. READ: Feminists are the slowest campers, but of course they think they world would be utopia if only the slowest and least capable were running the show.
She really thinks she'd have value in this 'new world'.

Under this system, a woman still chooses to get pregnant. If pregnancy is actually demeaned to the point of 'surrogacy' and the mother is not any more involved after the pregnancy than anyone else in the community (she doesn't 'mother' them, everyone does), then there is little positive side to getting pregnant (other than the experience of being pregnant itself), but mainly the negative aspects of pregnancy, including risks which are occasionally life-threatening. A pregnancy has little upside to it and mostly downside. So women won't do it unless the child is still associated with the mother to a significant degree.
Since a practical implementation of this hypothetical system means the mother is still 'the mother' and is significantly more involved with children than others (and therefore not 'everyone equally involved'), it just becomes a mechanism to give mothers an entitlement to the labour of others, who have no choice in the matter.
Unilateral female reproductive power, and unilateral female entitlement to extract labour resources from others who do not have to opt out of this system (at least she doesn't mention it). If there is as option to opt out, most would.

And each time I go back again because another. I guess I'm saying I'm working on your thoughts in my head. I'll be back.
[–]antifeminist30 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
I'm basically saying that the feminist who argued for this 'system', is actually arguing for a system that is still biased in favor of women and unilateral female reproductive power. It also argues for a unilateral right of the women who get pregnant to force the responsibility of her reproductive choice onto others, while simultaneously trying to create the appearance that it is 'good and equal' because everyone is 'involved.' It ignores the fact that non-mothers (and therefore all men), have no choice in this system, but must bear the responsibility of women's choices.
She conflates good for women with 'equality', and fails to even think about the effects of this system on other people. It erases fathers, and makes the woman unilaterally choose to involve others in raising her children--she gets their labour resources for free.
And communism as you pointed out is a system also biased in favor of women. Because communism results in women getting 'equal access to resources' without regard to any contribution. Who does the contributing/generating of resources in this feminist form of communism? Since women get an 'equal share without even mentioning contributing anything', by simple corollary this requires men to produce not only one share for himself, but a second share for women's 'equal share'. Feminist communists ignore the consequences their system imposes on others and therefore ignore this corollary. This talk of 'equal share of resources' ignores the responsibility of producing resources in this communist environment. But then again, it has always been men's responsibility to produce resources. She gets the kids (what she wants), he doesn't (he also wants to raise his own children), and he still has to pay for it. Just like divorce. But even better according to feminists, because there is no involvement of men, no fathers, just a sperm donor. They erase fathers and reduce men to sperm donors.
Both of these systems turn women into a newfangled bourgeois class who had the entitlement to 'get stuff and consume resources', while turning men into a newfangled proletariat who must work, produce resources and have the products of their labour 'collectivized' and transferred to women. In addition, she thinks a woman's voluntary choice to 'perform' nine months of 'pregnancy labor' somehow entitles these women to impose, unilaterally and without consent, 18 years of labour onto others.
Feminists want children to be associated with the mothers. When women care for children, they consume resources while generating little to no resources. We solved this in the past by marriage--men have proven themselves willing to do this in exchange for raising his children. Feminists want to remove the man, but maintain control and receive resources from men, for nothing in exchange. That is why they want resources to be an entitlement/right.
Even ignoring the unfairness of the situation, it will never work. Confiscating the products of men's labor would be demotivating to men, they would just work more minimally and for themselves, generating insufficient resources to be transferred to the entitled class called 'women'. You would have to try to force men into labor, which would turn men into a forced labor class. The system would collapse.
The 'feminist' hypergamous utopia is not self-financing, but is precariously dependent on every beta man working at his full capacity, without which the government bubble, inseparable from the misandry bubble, collapses. - quote from The Misandry Bubble by Imran Khan
[–]pangolin0010 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Beautifully said man. It is interesting how they turn what they want (children) into 'labor'. Uh yeah honey, it's a lot of work, but you all want it/do it, so let's stop acting like you're being 'forced' into 'hard labor' and should be compensated, otherwise it's slavery. Like Rollo Tomassi says, they try and turn necessity into a virtue. "I want/need babies, having babies is the hardest job on the planet (read: I'm a hero but starving, give me stuff for being a hero)"

[–]antifeminist30 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Did you read the article? Link here According to her, motherhood is performed by everyone and the way she talks about it, the biological mother is no more involved than anyone else.
I am arguing a woman wouldn't get pregnant under that circumstance, she wouldn't get pregnant. Her system would never be implemented (by choice of biological mothers) but in reality the closest to it is what you describe which is basically what I said.

"That means caring for each other not in discrete private units (also known as nuclear households), but rather within larger systems of care that can provide us with the love and support we can’t always get from blood relations"
This is making an assumption about human nature--that people can have just as much empathy for loose friendships as you can for close family and friends.
I think this is contrary to human nature. It won't work. People will not be willing to give their labor to the mothers. It could only be implemented by force. She is so female-centric that she fails to consider the 'effects on others.' Feminists are quick to point out the 'effects on women.', but that's the problem, they only look at the effects on women.
I can't find the reference, but I once read a meta-analysis of hunter-gatherer society cultures who lived traditional lifestyles (before significant modern influence). Most of these were studies several decades ago because modern influence is pervasive in these mostly former hunter-gatherer cultures... 91% had monogamous marriage. So even they thought it was a good idea.
Her system, if implemented, would not only reinforce unilateral control of reproduction by women, but entitle women to force others to help the mother, while excluding any notion of 'father'. It's a zero-sum game of control for women. She also has a sense of entitlement to other people's labor: a woman has the right to other people's labor because a woman chooses to have a kid. That's not equality, but it is feminism.
In addition, she thinks that nine months of 'pregnancy labor' entitles women to 18 years of other people's labor.

[–]FerociousAIDS 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's confirmed, feminism is a shit test.
Instead, she uses the surrogacy industry to build the argument that all gestation is work because of the immense physical and emotional labor it requires of those who do it.
roughly 1,000 people in the United States who still die as a result of pregnancy and childbirth each year—mostly poor women and women of color. “This situation is social, not simply ‘natural.’ Things are like this for political and economic reasons: we made them this way.”
So pregnancy is work, and women can die during pregnancy. Women dying during pregnancy should thus be classified as workplace deaths. Even after considering the women dying, I am sure men's workplace deaths are much higher.
Therefore, we should prioritize men's workplace deaths rather than women's workplace deaths, including them dying while giving birth.
Also (surprise!) she's a communist.
That means caring for each other not in discrete private units (also known as nuclear households), but rather within larger systems of care that can provide us with the love and support we can’t always get from blood relations—something Lewis knows all too well.
