there are instances where one can raise “another man’s child” without being a chuck:

-Adopting/mentoring an orphan -being involved in the children of ones siblings/cousins/very close friends (technically another mans child, but still family)

But in general I agree that I’m not giving money or time to chad’s leftovers. Maybe in some circumstances I’d mentor a boy whose from a single-mother household, but I’d do so through a charitable organization that didn’t require me to without deal with the mother.

I dated a single mother when I was in my early twenties. She had a (at the time) 5 year-old. The girl and her daughter were both cool. She and I wound up splitting up because I wasn’t prepared to be a step parent, and didn’t feel like I was the right man to fill the role of father. The ex-girlfriend agreed, and we split up amicably, and we are still friends 15 years later. It wasn’t a horrible relationship, it was quite the opposite really. We could probably do better by saying “make your intentions clear in an adult way” instead of blanket statements like “never date single mothers,” but y’all do y’all.
