After all, why pay for a tease when you can pay for guaranteed gratification?

In the US, they aren’t brothels (except NV) given the lack of legality, but if it were legal here, I’d say about between 60% to 75% of strippers (at least) would become sex workers.

Many strippers “self-medicate” or have a financial need which could be resolved via sex work in a scenario where it’s legalized in the US.

I believe the other 25% - 40% of strippers would likely never stray into that territory (due to the actual requirements of physically gratifying á John) or due to the competitive nature of the job.

Simply put, there’d be such a glut of supply that they’d probably make less than a stripper currently does while having to actually provide more than they currently do.

Given these definitions, it can be argued that all strippers are basically prostitutes.

TL;DR:

Most strippers might be sex workers, but a large chunk wouldn’t since they’d actually have to work & quite a bit of them would be turned off by the prospect of actually having to do something.

If she demands any thing in exchange for sex, she's a whore. The difference is how much and what she demands, money, favors, food, marriage/commitment etc. Prostitutes will have such transactional sex with almost everyone, i.e. they treat it like a busniess and are less picky. "Normal women" will be more picky and let sexual selection take over and won't have transactional sex with most people.

Sluts on the other hand will fuck almost everyone for reasons other than material resource gain, like horniness, need for validation, inherent desire to cheat on a partner etc.

Keep in mind, these traits are independent of a woman (rather dependent on the man she's fucking) and the same woman can behave differently to different sexual partners.
