The mistake(aside from getting married) is thinking she wanted polyamory. This isn't polyamory.

There's no respect, no communication, no affection, and no peace.

She has checked out of the marriage but wanted the financial benefits of it, so this was her solution.

Not sure if dude knows this,but his marriage was long dead. He's not in a polyamorous relationship, he's in a dead marriage where he just gave his wife permission to cheat. She knew chances were he wasn't going to find anyone, so this move had no repercussions for her.

I used to know a guy whose gf and I were good friends. He was 27, obese, and a gamer. He, like me, struggled to find work and he did some crappy work.

His gf is an open feminist with a sizeable tumblr page filled with lgbt material, victimization, and quotes about depression. It's also filled with very attractive females dressed pretty sexy. She's also overweight. And in my opinion, pretty lazy.

One conversation we had she mentioned that she was poly curious. I asked her who she had in mind. She said it had to be a girl.

Tidbits...she hadnt had sex with her bf, though they see each other every weekend, in 6 months. Dude was major frustrated, but because he loved her, he didnt complain much about the lack of intimacy.

She told me there's this really cute girl she knows but that girl hardly knows she exists. It was like her bf was invisible.

She then told me that she'd have to talk about the both of them having polyamorous relationships.

This guy is fat and poor, not to mention very shy. She was a big girl too. I held my tongue but I knew exactly what was going on here.

Girl wanted to branch swing to another female...but he's providing for her...by buying her all kinds of things, and he has well off parents he's somewhat estranged with that love her.

This is why she's trying to push polyamory on him. It's pure cake eating.

Polyamory is almost always suggested by females for a reason, it's cheating with permission.

If someone (male or female) is suggesting polyamory or an open relationship, they already have someone lined up to fuck.

For the partner that does not suggest/initiate polyamory, men are at a real disadvantage since even passably attractive women can find partners easily. If a woman initiates polyamory, the scenario in the OP is a very likely outcome for the man.
