I loved being romantic to my cheating whore ex till the day we broke up and I didn't view it as labour. After we broke up I felt empty because it felt like I had so much love to give and nobody to give it to.

She was a frigid bitch who only called me baby like 4 times in a 5 year relationship. I didn't realize it at the time, but I remember getting emotional because the cunt remembered that I didn't like pineapple on pizza when she ordered one.

After breaking up I realized I got emotional because I had never been loved in turn. It was all my need to love and care and provide for someone that had completely blinded me.

Now I'm single, life doesn't have as many ups or downs. It sure isn't a blissful existence, but at least I don't stay up nights wondering why she forgot my birthday for a week, or why she keeps giggling when messaging a "friend".

Go your own fucking way. You won't get pussy but at least your life will actually be what you make of it. Zero interference.

It’s like being a baker vs. a customer. The baker sinks time, effort, and resources to make a cake. The customer either buys it or goes to find a different cake. The customer gets the cake by the end anyway so it’s always positive, while the baker wasted their time on a cake nobody wants to buy. Some may persist until they get a lucky break, some may take notes, some might straight-up steal the recipe for another cake and hope it works, or some quit being bakers.

I might sound petty saying this, but if we presume men and women equal then romance is a humiliating ritual of a man paying money for a woman and boosting her self-esteem at the expence of his own just to try to keep her company for a little longer. NO man enjoys romance for the sake of it, he only does it to make a woman happy.

Women seem to not distinguish "good" and "good for ME", so they can root for equality and expect men humiliate themselves like this.

Simple. All these romance movies are about guys going to the ends of the earth to win his 'prize'. All the woman has to do is not say no.. or st least come around eventually. If there was a movie about some babe going to the ends of the earth for some guy who basically just had to show up and I could identify wrh him I might enjoy the fantasy that brings as well.. at least befire I realized it's all bullshit.

To sum it up, it's not just that rom-coms are boring, but they are so pretentious having the plot revolving around the woman and Joe awesome and fabulous she is. She may still chase the alpha Chad but either alpha Chad falls for her or she'll just go for beta Billy, right after she's had a train run on her. A really good example is the movie Loser from 2000 starring Mena Suvari as the goth/emo/scene chick that bangs her professor and Jason Biggs as the Midwestern goody two shoes dork who moves to the big city and he pines for her and everyone is so mean to him. Finally she dumps professor and settles for Biggs. And it's hard to believe today in our woke society, but this movie did really bad back then, essentially terminating both Suvari's and Bigg's careers a d relegating them to American Pie reunions. It was just released at the wrong time. Had it been released today it would have made so much money off of hip independent feminist chicks that love to fight the patriarchy and listen to Taylor Swift.

The only movie that I've actually thought was semi decent was Brooklyn. For one, the lead actress was decently good looking and seemed pleasant. And it had historical and cultural context, not just because it was set in the 50s, but it shows (contrary to the woke narrative) tensions between immigrant groups, namely Irish and Italians. And at least the girl has a sense of remorse after going back to Ireland and almost dumping her Italian husband for an Irish dilettante.

The good thing about this is that if you get sick of women, you become invisible. Young men work out pretty quickly that to get girls, they have to actively pursue them and risk rejection regularly whereas women just wait around existing and picking and choosing. Romance is very childish and absurd if you think about it. Going mgtow is quite easy unless you're extremely attractive, which most men aren't.

There is no thrill for average men, dating is work and rejection, marriage is even more work. The harder you pursue women the more tired you get ,this was as true years ago as it is today.

The answer is wrong. If it was correct then men would get a thrill like women from watching chick flicks... but they don't. Men simply aren't programmed emotionally the same. Men are programmed to suppress emotions in order for logic and rational thought to take precedence. Women have heightened emotional responses to aid group conformance and bonding, depression I often say is more pronounced in women to keep them closer to the clan.

I don't like most romance fictions because they are geared towards catering specifically to the tastes of women. There is little focus on plot and it's mostly just sappy melodramatic nonsense that ends with her swooning.

There are good romance stories that cater to men, most of them are coming-of-age stories or realistic plots where the man gets fucked over by the woman (e.g. film noir)

The saying is women like romance but the truth is Women like to BE romanced, they're NOT romantic themselves, they don't perform romantic acts other than requesting them.

Men are the ones who are romantic. They're the ones who create art, work, give flowers and other gifts, struggle to bounce back after a breakup / divorce, while the woman monkey branches to the next guy.

If women were really romantic they would be marrying for love, not power /wealth and/or height and they wouldn't be leading the divorce courts.

Truth. I don't read romance novels, but I have to guess they aren't about women courting men, or making some major, expensive effort to make some man like them. How often do we read about some rich woman (most of the romance objects in women's romance media are wealthy) pursuing some regular guy, and improving his life immeasurably? It happens (E.G., Notting Hill), but mostly, romance for women is about men giving them things, and making them feel special.

In short. Women love Romance because it means a man is showering them with attention, gifts and promises of more resources. Men don't love Romance because it depends on Men to do all the work, make all the decisions, do everything without error and commit a lot of time, effort and resources. Women consume Romance. Men have to invest in Romance.
