No man I know walks alone regularly at midnight. Even my biggest friends who are scrappers don't do this because of the perceived dangers.

I actually shit myself walking on the street alone at night - both in California where I live now, and in shithole crowded Manhattan where I lived before.

Went on a run all the time as a kid. The road I loved was Johnson road. Nice little dirt road, but freaky as hell at night.
When I was dealing with shit (usually high school girl problems) I’d go on a night run. Going down Johnson once was enough to know not to do that again.

Even if it was a nightly thing for me, I took martial arts classes, lift weights, and got a concealed carry permit all for the same reason. So that if someone tries to do something to me I have tools at my disposal to deal with the situation.
