Most you can’t trust to be faithful when they are out of your sight while working for 8hrs.

Being deployed for months or years it’s a virtual guarantee that they will cheat.

I put in for a dream assignment overseas, and got it. The downside was that I didn’t report for eight months. I stayed back from a deployment, my unit went on. I was the “Rear Detachment NCOIC” for my Company.

I had always heard the stories about deployed unit. You see the divorces that come of it all. . . Seeing it before your very eyes is a real dick punch.

The wives & girlfriends showed up to send off the soldiers late at night. They were all dressed up for their soldiers. . . The soldiers boarded buses at 11 pm (2300 for the goons who care).

Not 10 minutes after the heartfelt goodbyes, tears and all; they all giggled and laughed loudly. They were talking about which bar to hit. . .

It got worse over time. Soldiers wives would call the duty desk and ask for rides when they were drunk. I showed up to an address one night and it was a motel. . . She was standing outside with two soldiers, they were both shirtless. She got spitroasted and called me, the duty NCO for a ride. I was speechless. . .

Another one needed a ride home on a different occasion. I knew her husband. I had met her before. She was nice enough, I guess. . . Right up until she asked me to go upstairs. I declined, and told her I had to go back to base and finish my shift.

The wife of a soldier in my platoon. One of MY soldiers wives hit me up on my personal phone (she got it off the emergency call out roster be had). She said she wanted to “go out for dancing and drinks” because it had been “so long” and she just wanted to “get out of the house”.

Its every bit as bad as you think.
