Today I went to a friend's house to chill out. While there, I was lying on a hammock listening to music. My friend's girlfriend came up to me and asked me what I was listening to. I told her I was listening to "new age ambient" music on Pandora. She then proceeded to attack me and claim that I am not a real man and not masculine enough and that that is why I am single.

Feeling somewhat triggered, I told her that I listen to whatever music I want to listen to, that I have no regard for whatever values she imposes on me, and that I don't care about getting a girlfriend or marrying. She then kept trying to shame me, so I told her to get out, but she told me that I was in her house, so I had to get out, which is what I did.

It turned out my friend turned against me to side with his girlfriend. She must have put an ultimatum on him, so I lost a friend today, but I am happy I stuck to my values and didn't conform. My reasoning is that it's a slippery slope. If I give in to a woman when she tells me I need to listen to a type of music that she approves, then before you know it, I'll be a married blue pill manslave working 100 hours a week just to subsidize a woman's housewife lifestyle. One day I will be listening to masculine music and then the next day I'll be a human ATM because that is what "real men" do.

For as long as I live, I intend to be a beacon of freedom and rugged individualism, a shining example of a man who is unconstrained by social norms that seek to stifle freedom and extract wealth.

The worst part about all this is that I spoke to some other men about this topic and to my surprise they were all against me, saying that I should man up and start acting like a man and listen to manly music, and this made me angry. These were red pill men but I think they are PUAs rather than MGTOWs and they somehow believe that a man needs to do whatever it takes to be attractive to women because validation from women is the meaning of life.

There's no real point in all this. I'm just telling you what happened. It is just a moment in the life of a MGTOW.
