I am trying to understand why some men think having kids is desirable. I have always viewed them as nuisance and still do. Whenever I imagine having kids it just seems like signing away another 3 decades of my life to the machine, in order to raise another person that might not even be grateful for my effort. This might also because I don't romanticize my childhood or my own parents. I saw nothing worth repeating with another generation. I know they become "the greatest thing ever" to some people, but to me anything I invest a lot of time and effort in becomes "the greatest thing ever" because whatever I invest time and energy in grows in quality and in what it gives me back. The thing is, I can choose things that don't demand I stay a wage slave for decades.
