I wish people were honest about children and actually say it sucks to raise kids. There should be no "buts". "They're my whole world, but...." NO stop spreading lies.

Once you reach a certain point and you've been able to meditate on life, the future, and mgtow teachings, you will realize that nothing matters. Your legacy WILL be forgotten no matter what you do. We are but a speck of dust in the gargantuan universe. Just be happy to be alive and enjoy what time we have.

LISTEN TO ME:

1) "Genetic legacy" is NONSENSE. There is no guarantee your children will have children and even if they do they will be mixing their genes with someone else and their children with someone else. By the time you get to great grandchildren how much of YOU is really left? Besides this, children in the future will be genetically engineered anyway and humans will merge with machine intelligence so "genetic legacy" is a load of bullshit.

2) Once you have kids there is no going back, you will never be free again, even when they have left home, they will continue to impact your life, you will never be free again to live the way you want to live.

3) Having kids is A LOT OF WORK and a massive financial commitment, most people just don't know how much work and money it takes - until its too late.

4) The future will provide lots of opportunities for things to do, so don't worry about being 'bored' if you don't have kids, you won't be, much better to have lots of free time (and money) to do stuff you enjoy.

5) If you don't want kids NOW then don't have them. Don't imagine that you WILL want them in the future or that you will regret not having them, you WON'T. Also remember that men can biologically have kids at any age so why not wait and decide when you are 60 when you will have more money anyway?

6) RESIST social pressure to have children. Its YOUR life not theirs. A lot of jealous fucks out there want you to make the same mistake they did, don't be fooled.

7) Remember that you can always enjoy the kids of other people, you can be that favorite uncle if you are so inclined, but there is no need to have kids 24/7 and then have to worry about them for the rest of your life.

8) Look... just don't have kids its fucking INSANE. Just do your own thing and enjoy life. There is nothing better than having good friends and interesting hobbies.

I think because childhood is the best time in some people's lives, and the only way for people to relive it is to have children of their own. Christmas with the family, birthday parties, playing at the park, learning to ride a bike, playing with toys, ect. Though for the most part, people are just too dumb to not get pregnant, and women want them out of instinct.

Biologically kids are the only way to live past your individual life. They are your genetic legacy.

On a serious note kids give some men purpose. My purpose is to accumulate wealth to pay for colleges and provide a legacy of wealth to my children and their children. I look forward to fishing with grandkids. I have spent my life learning and experiencing. I would like to pass down what little bit I know to someone.

More practically kids and grandchildren may step up to the plate to care for elderly parents or grandparents. Dementia and Alzheimers are real diseases. Having someone give a shit would be nice.

Mot important is just the purpose aspect. Purpose can help you deal with and put up with a lot of other bullshit.

The whole children/happy family ideal is just another illusion and really only pans out for a tiny minority of people. My own family is a good example. My parents had a "successful" marriage. They never divorced, raised three kids who all turned out successful. But after the first few "happy" years of young family bliss my dad retreated into his career. By the time I was 12 he basically dissappeared and I could tell he wished he had taken a different path. Things got better for my parents after we kids left home. I would divide their 55 year marriage into three parts. The first 10 years were good, starting a new family, building a home and career, lots of friends and activities, we really seemed like a happy family. Then about 25 years of boredom, frustration, general unhappiness. My mom went a little crazy during the menopause years and by their early 50's they were in separate bedrooms. Then after about age 60 they slowly came back together and had a generally "content" life together till my dad died. But by then he was a shadow of a man. He was not a bad man, but he was not much of a father, other than free room and board I basically raised myself after about age 12. When he died he and I were pretty much strangers.

I felt no real emotion at his funeral, just a general sadness that he was a man that basically did not even come close to his potential. I think he basically came to terms with his life and the opportunities and dreams he sacrificed. He was a good slave.

this country is filled with retirement communities where you have to be at least 50 years old and no children are allowed. Ask anyone in those communities would they do it again. Fuck NO. Nuff said.

To me its insane to have kids if your're poor or struggling with money. Literal mental illness. How are you going to take care of the child with no money?

I just took a seat on my patio with a beer to listen to the baseball game (big no-no for married gents) and the kid next door is screaming and bawling her eyes out over probably nothing. After 30 seconds the sound is so irritating that I'm ready to take my beer inside and watch the game on TV. I am in no way capable of raising a child, I have no patience for it.

I have two of them. Of course I love them and try to be the best dad I can be. Coaching, dance recitals, taxi service... I do all I can to give them a better childhood than I had. That said, knowing what I know now, if I could go back in time 15 years and get a vasectomy, I'd do it.

They're a lot of work and a huge financial commitment. Plus, there's no guarantee they'll want anything to do with you once they reach adulthood.

You can still go your own way after having kids (I have been for 6 years now), but they'll definitely limit you geographically and financially.

We are biologically predisposed to liking our own children. This is why men say they live their children "but"... And that is when the truth overtakes the biological imperative.

Women know this and leverage it. Child trap the man. He will resent it till the child is born. Once the child is born, the man will do anything for the child. Even though it's a life destroying process. May be not for some but it will still take away a lot of enjoyment from your life. And all you have is a hardwired feel good factor.

Heck, the rare times I have done the thought experiment of imagining being a father, 2 things have happened.

First, I get a sense of love, feel good and protectiveness that would feel very fulfilling.

Second, the reality of being a father repulses me. The financial drain, the mental strain and the loss of freedom plus potential collateral and weapon in a divorce battle. No thank you.

First is my biological response. It tells me fatherhood would be amazing. My pragmatic self takes a while longer but the difference is momentary. Still, you have to be mindful of this fact to avoid confusion or coginitve dissonance. That's not you feeling good. It's your evolutionary autopilot. Disable it for good.

If you want genetic legacy you have a much better shot by donating as much sperm as possible to sperm banks. You are way more likely to "spread your seed" that way than trying to raise the kids by yourself with your own money... Purpose most people lack ability to function without having their to do list. Seriously sad but true thing is the traditional cuck list of find a girl get married have kids. Is why some men get out of bed in the morning.

The second reason is at a certain moment in your life you realize your not next billionaire innovator. Your not changing the world your a insignificant piece of cosmic dust to be blown away in a instant. Now society deems it as the "grand achievement" its ok your 40yrs old making min wage. If your married your "ok" if you have kids everyone will talk about what a good dad you are and that you try. Even gives you a second chance to live through kids vicariously and wield their achievements as your own. Hence why football dads get super excited about son winning a trophy because its like dad has won it twice.

Sadly for a species that claims to be "self aware" most of humanitys actions. Are predetermined biological social influences. Very few people actual thoughts of their own most of us are statistics. I have kids and more on the way. Kids give my life meaning to a degree to which nothing else comes remotely close to. And I have done a lot of things in my life, and more than most people. Travelled the world, lived in many different countries, banged pretty girls of many nationalities & races, partied, started companies, whatever, etc. and whatever it is people think makes their life interesting. All this is nice enough, but can't hold a candle to having kids.

Yes they are a lot of work. All things in life worth doing is a lot of work. Yes they cost money, although it doesn't have to be so expensive. And so what - I have enough - not a lot but enough, money is bullshit anyway and it's not like spending them on the newest nonsense Apple gadget, or stupid car or McMansion in the suburbs, or whatever is such an immensely better thing to do & no I'm not a wage slave either.

By all means don't have kids if you don't want to. On the other hand, do have kids if you want - this is MGTOW. Do whatever the fuck you want.

having kids is a totally normal and natural event. pushed by evolutionary biology and your hormones and can make you feel very happy.

...having said that, that is primal behavior, survival in a world that is hard to survive in. but since the industrial revolution some 170 years ago, yeah, we're pretty set, having kids is not needed, we are able to override our biology to see we'd have happier lives to not procreate.

i agree, kids seem like so much work and dedication. and most grow up to be fat assholes or backstabbers or sjw cis tranny boy girls.
