Haven’t talked to the psycho cunt in 5 years and never been happier. Sadistic physically and psychologically abusive aggressive stress/anxiety ball that kept my cortisol levels at max from as early as I can remember till I left home. Changed me in irreversible ways and only in my 30s was I able to get a semblance of closure. I’d trade her for an absentee father or a dead mother at the drop of a hat.

And half the women I’ve dated have been like...”well, I want to meet her”. Listen here, Florence Nightingale... I don’t need you to “fix” anything.
The other half... yeah.... she’s dead. “How’d she go?” “Oh she’s not really dead... just dead to me”
[–]Philosophipster11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Way too familiar feeling. I think the worst is to have this scenario and be dependent on such a person. They have a tendency to control/manipulate the ones close to them because those they do not, leave.
[–]largepaycheckaddict9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Or how about women or even guys who never experienced abuse from their parents guilting you/generally giving you shit for distancing yourself from your abusive parents? Pretty fucked up.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That’s kind of human nature... on one hand there’s the attitude of “it can’t be THAT bad... MAN UP” and on the other there’s the attitude of “my life has been harder, woe is me”.
What if I told you it’s possible to have had a rough childhood, but to support those who had better/worse childhood(s) because you’re not a dick....

I emphasize with you. I've been through some similar shit. Growing up with a mother like that leaves you scarred for life.
[–]NohoTwoPointOh29 points30 points31 points 6 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
Ditto. As a result of her, I don't trust much, if anything. Everyone starts at a -40 and works their way up to zero. Luckily, I work in a profession where paranoia is an asset. That said, it has hurt other aspects of my life.
I finally cut her off and my life has been so much better.

I had a very toxic relationship with my mom. My dad enabled her. My dad passed and my mom was left alone. After a few years of just talking occasionally, she and I really came clean with each other.
She owned everything she did wrong, took responsibility for it, and genuinely wanted to make amends. I was able to forgive her and move forward and now she’s actually a good friend.
Incredibly red-pilled too. She explains the shitty things women do, tells me I just need booty calls or hookers, and tells me all the time to watch out for lying, deceitful women.
I never would have guess she would do any of those things. Who knew?

Exactly. My own mother would operate the same way - she would only do something for me, good or bad, if in some direct or indirect way she would benefit from the deed, be it sending me to a good school or trying to keep me away from financial education as much as possible.
[–]BertTheWelder1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It seems pretty legit to me. She was left with enough life insurance and gets social security so resource-wise she’s set and doesn’t ask me for anything.
I’ve got a pretty well-tuned sense of radar for people using me and this one hasn’t gone off yet... but I’ll stay vigilant.

Appreciate the well-founded concerns. She lives a couple states away so we only see each other 3-4 times a year, but we do talk quite often. My dad left her with a large amount of life insurance, and between that and Social Security, she neither needs nor asks for money (or other resources) from me.
You guys are right, she may very well not want to “share me” with another woman. Luckily for me, her advice to just “pump and dump” is what I think is best for me anyway at the moment.

I appreciate it, brother. It’s nice that we can offer caution to each other without turning into screeching harpies. So rare in the rest of the world.
[–]rabaraba1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
What do you mean by your dad enabled her?
[–]BertTheWelder0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
He put up with a lot of verbal abuse, and let her make objectively bad decisions even though he knew things wouldn’t turn out. But the alternative was to make her angry, which wasn’t something he was willing to do. He kissed her ass way too much. I mean, he even would take her car to put gas in it whenever she needed because she didn’t like to deal with the gas pumps. At least he did until I got a drivers license - then it was my chore.

As a father of two year old, what things can you suggest to me to help raise a child with a narcissistic mother. What would have helped you just a bit to understand she's horrible
[–]NeoCzar4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The issue was not to understand that she’s horrible. I knew she was horrible and I didn’t know why. The important thing is that the child is not left alone with her for extended periods of time. My old man worked double shifts and so when he was around she more or less behaved herself, but when he wasn’t all the abuse came out. Narcissism doesn’t always translate to abuse by the way. Most mothers would instinctively take that shit out elsewhere, the important thing is it’s not taken out on the child.
[–]Shiva-The_Destroyer1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In my case the best thing my father could have done was getting away from her ASAP and getting full custody for me. That woud have not been possible because she wouldn't let him have full custody. She insisted of full custody. My father though I would be safe with her. I am her child after all, her flesh and blood. Boy was he wrong. In hindsight he regrets not fighting at least for shared custody.
Maybe you wanna check out the audiobook I suggested in another post
There are also some good youtube channels about narcissism. Maybe you know them already. I really like "Growth after abuse", "We Need to Talk with Kris Godinez", "DeMars Coaching", "begood4000", "Surviving Narcissism" and "Understanding Narcissists".
I wish you all the best for you and your kid and take care!

Women once had a different role in society, therefore we're never allowed to critique their behavior again. Just burn it down, we're done here.

[–]100_Duck-sized_Ducks26 points27 points28 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
A LOT worse. Absence isn’t bad by itself, it’s just neutral.
Not being there to be a positive influence is seen as a horrible thing, but it’s just neutral.
Meanwhile, being there but being a horrible parent is the worst thing you can do.
Not to defend abandoning kids at all, it’s just the way I see the logic.
[–][deleted] 27 points28 points29 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I think the absent father/abandoned kids meme is just designed to demonize men. How many men have been driven away by a crazy, psycho bitch who then turns the kids against him (parental alienation syndrome)? Then the ex with society's full backing labels him a dead beat dad.
Until women are treated as adults and expected to take responsibility for their actions (as it used to be before feminism infantalized them), then nothing will change. Stay MGTOW.
[–]Flesh_Pillow54 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It it designed to demonise men. The only proper definition a deadbeat dad is a father whose also a husband I.e married to a the mother of the children who then walks out on the children and the marriage once the child is born.
[–]Mundane_Batrachian2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Absent fathers are often caused by toxic mothers. She won't let him around the kid.
Glad I don't have to deal with this any longer. Paid off the child support, and the same month got a much better paying job. Egg Donor (Won't dignify it as an "ex wife") found out, and was furious that I hadn't got that better paying job sooner, when I was still having to pay her money.
But the state I'm in doesn't do anything retroactively with respect to child support. So I enjoy my Drafting job and my paycheck and my motorcycles in peace.
[–]teslaistheshit2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So much this. Jesus everyone likes to vilify men but I don't know any man that doesn't want to be there for his kids. My ex was such a shitty wife that I couldn't live with myself if my sons ended up with someone like her. Men have no role in society anymore other than working and paying taxes until they die. Fuck that noise.

There are a lot of discussions regarding the failings in society - women related - that society isn’t ready or willing to discuss.
The entitlement along with the victim complex, it is staggering and it makes me wish I was born in a different period in time.

I'll be the first to admit even I wouldn't hear it. My mom treated me like shit for so long and I would always just give her a pass because I thought it was already enough that she didn't leave like my dad.
I know where you're coming from. I emotionally disconnected from my mother when I was 8 but what should I do, she was the only person I had. I was dependend on her. Today I understand why my father left.

That's bullshit.
Women determine who will be a father and who will have his children stolen from him, i.e., who will be absent. Men have no control over that at all.
[–]ItIsABear2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
They're not "toxic mothers," they're "passionate mothers." Is what they'd say after being called out for their shit.
[–]Flesh_Pillow52 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Toxic mothers are worse actually. Fatherly absence is a multifactorial event. For example in the black American community and poor white community a pregnant girl at 16 might be supported in being a mum. But how is a 16/17 year old boy supposed to be a father. His better off pursuing his dreams and goals first. She chose to carry the child to term. CONSENT TO SEX IS NOT CONSENT TO FATHERHOOD..JUST BECAUSE YOU EXERCISED YOUR RIGHTS AND BODILY AUTONOMY DOESN'T MEAN YOU GET TO MAKE A CHOICE FOR ME TO BE A PARENT. women unlike men have full bodily autonomy and choice even after the child is born they can give it up without the consent of the father. There's nothing wrong with leaving a baby mama. It's not like that's your wife. It's not like the child was born within the context of a marriage. Go pursue your success and when you're at a good level..Maybe you can seek out the child especially if it's a boy. But there's no point initially for an out of wedlock birth.
[–]roflcopt0rz_returns2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Toxic mothers are 9001 times worse than absent fathers.
That's because toxic mothers create absent fathers, not the other way around.
You "stop" absent fathers, all you do is handcuff the man to a toxic woman.
You stop toxic mothers, the father stops abandoning the family because his household is now actually a place he wants to be in.
[–]William_Pierce_2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Single mothers are the downfall of society.
When I was brigaded, “ratted”, and under a stochastic terror attack, single mothers were the ones primarily encouraging it..
Even though the reason why I was attacked had nothing to do with them.
When social media influencers (mainly washed up rappers and celebrities) found out, single mothers were telling them shit like to “go be a mentor”.. “go get you some money”..
When I would scroll through the “likes” on these posts, 90% of the “likes” (I’m not exaggerating) were black single mothers...
The reason they kept insisting I keep being a mentor was, they found out I don’t have any kids. So, they wanted me to mentor their bastard kids.
Black single mothers are the downfall of American society, period.
They act like men, they raise their sons to act like women. The kids they produce and can’t take care of are a strain on society in terms of taxes, criminality, and law enforcement resources.
Black single mothers should be designated as terrorists, and dealt with accordingly.
