I am married and I support mgtow. I think your confusing being mgtow and supporting mgtow. Look I made a mistake by getting married when I did but I have a family now a boy and another child on the way. I would rather die a thousand times in the most painful death then have anything happen to them god forbid. However, that dont mean that I dont think everyday why did I get married in the first place? If i hadn't I would be more free be able to do things that I can't with a family. Travel, have fun with friends, free time for myself etc. I did what I did and I cant turn back time but I cant leave my family either. I would never do that to my kids. Kids need a good environment with both parents to be there. But I also support the mgtow movement because I see first hand on a daily basis how women can be. And my wife is one of the good ones trust me. I'm not perfect either but I see what's going on with guys and girls these days and I support the cause! I think its the right thing what you guys are doing. I just cant be mgtow because i have kids. If we were childless it would be a different story i probably would have left her a loooooong time ago. But kids change EVERYTHING. Anybody who tells you otherwise is lying. Basically married men get to see first hand the craziness of women. We have to live with it everyday especially if you have kids tbh I dont know why you would wanna get married and not have kids? What's the point? Except to save on taxes but just date then and get fake married. But I digress. My point being is that you have me who is married supporting the mgtow cause because I am on the front lines of this everyday and I see all around me how men are becoming more Simps, accusations against men, attacking white men etc. Its a shit show to be a man nowadays so i support the cause even though I cant join you. Geddit?

Married and i love MGTOW. My way is having a family, and nobody will tell me what to do.

+ i do everything else i want to do. Have my hobbies, buddies, go out when i want, buy what i want. My wife works and she doesn't use my money. Family is just another puzzle of my life that makes it whole.

I will teach my son about women nature and MGTOW. Hopefully he will make his choice and it will be his way.

Also, i wouldn't marry again, but 20 years ago in East Europe things were far different.

Men going their own way means just that... if their own way involves a wife, what's the big deal? Are they jumping in completely? No.

But they do still help promote the philosophy, and if they have kids, they can help by passing on this knowledge to their kids.

Maybe they're in a situation where it's cheaper to keep her?

Acting as a gatekeeper to the mgtow community does more to hinder the dissemination of knowledge.

I wholly agree that a married mgtow should NOT be financially benefitting from the community, but I fail to see why they need to be excluded just because they haven't earned their divorce merit badge.

Can I echo /u//Electrical_Catch/ ; married guy, wish I was not, but RedPill and MGTOW appeared too late for me, and similarly I have kids that I am not going to leave. So, I hate it day on day, but I made my choices and I am not going to shirk my responsibilities.

I think married-and-MGTOW is rubbish, at best it is a linguistic trick. But I think that married-and-supporting-MGTOW is a good thing; I hope that some input from guys for whom it is now too late can help other guys for whom it is not loo late.

You are correct. You cannot be MGTOW and married. Being MGTOW requires two things:

Red pill knowledge
Avoidance of serious relationships with women, especially (but not limited to) marriage.

That's the core of MGTOW. Always has been.

You can be married and benefit from MGTOW -- by watching videos, reading content, participating on MGTOW forums, and so forth. But you can't actually be MGTOW if you're married. That's a contradiction in terms.

MGTOW did not neccessarily mean “marriage strike” in the beginning, although it certainly had large elements within it that supported that. What I understood it more to mean was “Go your own way! Get off these restrictive forums! Start your own blog! Say what you want to say, and don’t give a shit about the rest!”

That's the thing with redpill getting more mainstream everyone tries to apply it even if they aren't necessarily ones who should be doing it, because MGTOW isn't for everyone and that's okay. Mgtow is one of those nebulas terms, but I think that the most consistent definition is never legally, financially, or emotionally committing to a woman. Being married breaks all three of these conditions. That's not to say that a married man can't be married on his own terms, although that's a hell of a lot harder today than it was throughout history. At least in the past, a man could be his own man while also being married.

However, there is a reason why the mgtow symbol is a road sign showing the path less taken. It means that going your own way means choosing a different path than the typical one in life. It means striking out on your own.

I have no problem with men who choose to marry. I can see the appeal. I think it's a shit deal today and extremely dangerous both legally and financially, but I understand why men still want it. Most men want to become fathers and a committed marriage is the best way to raise children. Unfortunately, the state and our culture has done everything to endanger men who marry from divorce rape to paternity fraud to imprisonment for not being able to pay six figure alimony. It's just too damn dangerous.

The technical definition of MGTOW is you can’t cohabitate with women. However, men who have gotten redpilled while married may find the community refreshing because it thrives on self validation which everyone benefits from.

No, you aren't the only one bothered by it. Yes, I would argue you are wrong. The reason you are bothered by it because of "cognitive dissonance" which is totally fine. I'll break it down for you

The universal rules of MGTOW are no long term relationships, no cohabitation, no marriage, etc. so, by definition, a married man cannot be MGTOW. On the surface a "married mgtow" is a contradiction or oxymoron. However I'm going to build my case for why married MGTOWs exist

Point #1.) Discovery of MGTOW post marriage: Don't forget there are plenty of men who discover the Red Pill POST marriage every damn day. Many men get caught with the okie doke up front because in the past there was not enough information out there. Later in life they discover the truth about female nature, hypergamy, marriage rates, family courts, etc. and find themselves in the "belly of the beast" so to speak. Knowing what they know, ask them what would they do differently in their lives and see how many start with "NOT GET MARRIED" MGTOW is a philosophy that a man has to accept from within and the outside behavior reflects that. When it comes to married men do you see them constantly oogling women constantly? Do you see them tirelessly chasing sex? Some of them, yeah. There are also others who don't pay women any mind and focus on their purpose. Contrary to popular belief, marriage is often "catalyst" for productivity once you realize 1.) How much time you used to spend chasing women 2.) How it's not really worth it once you et one. As a married man it's not unusual for you immediately become disillusioned about women because you see EVERYTHING. You see how they look when they aren't dolled up, you see them drop nukes in the bathroom, you hear the earth shattering farts, etc. Is it any wonder why when confronted with the reality of infidelity many married men be like "You know what bud? If you want her you can have her." A common mistake Red Pill/MGTOWs make is the assumption of "oh he's married so he's a blue pilled simp." Some men are however...it behooves me to suggest you to take it on a "case by case basis" judging a man by his behaviors and not by the title of "husband.

Point #2.) Accepting or rejecting "Happy wife, Happy Life": This is where 99% of you Red Pill/MGTOW men get it wrong so pay attention. The common misconception is that once you are in a marriage your balls fall off, the husbands hands them to his wife and he adopts the "Happy wife, Happy life" mantra. Do men do this? Yes. These men put their wives first, ask for permission with everything he does, pays for the entire house and is allowed a "man cave." Do ALL men do this? No. What many of you fail to realize is that you are PROJECTING what you believe marriage to be like based on the propaganda you see in the media (husband is incompetent, idiot dad burns the house down, etc.) Contrary to popular belief, there are still married men who DO WHATEVER THEY WANT, CONSEQUENCES BE DAMNED. These men prioritize being an "individual" over being a "husband." They don't ask their wife's permission to do stuff. If they want to do something they just DO IT. For example, my gym was going to have a training camp in Thailand for 2 weeks. I wanted to go...so I did. Alone aka by myself aka solo dolo. Keeping it 100% there were even guys at the gym like "I want to go but I know my wife won't let me." and my immediate thought was "what do you me LET you go?" than I had to remember one marriage =/= all marriages. In fact every time the trip up came up in conversation people would be like "oh what does your wife think about you going alone?", "Is you wife ok allowing you to go somewhere for 2 weeks without her?", etc. Hell one woman (who was single) said "Your wife is better than me because I would not let MY husband go" For those of you curious how my wife reacted when I told her I was planning on leaving the country for 2 weeks to attend the training camp, "ok." For shits and giggles I probed for information and asked her what she really thought about me doing it and her response? "I don't know why you are asking this. I know you don't care what I think about the trip and are going to do whatever you want anyway regardless of what I will say." Yes contrary to what many of you believe some married men have it like that. Just like some men (aka Chad and Tyrone) treat women like crap and still have girls chasing after them. It is what it is.

Point #3.) "Follow the rules or else": I know, I know. "If you don't tow the line your wife will divorce you and you will be in the family courts." This is a common argument thrown out by Red Pill/MGTOW to imply married men are not truly "free." It's a poor constructed counter argument to the possibility married MGTOW and here's why. We ALL know that 7 out of 10 divorces are initiated by women regardless of if the guy was the "perfect husband", an average husband or a bad husband. Blue pill men think by adopting the "happy wife, happy life" their wife will show mercy and not take them to the family courts but that is, statistically speaking, not true. Knowing the dismal divorce rates, how bad the family courts are, etc. there are STILL married men who do NOT adopt the "Happy wife, Happy life" who DO WHATEVER THEY WANT, CONSEQUENCES BE DAMNED. If they want to play video games all day, they do despite the risk of divorce. If they want to travel alone, they do despite the risk of divorce. If they want to sleep with women, they do despite the risk of divorce. These men are not living in "fear" of what their wife might do, they prioritize following their purpose, hobby, etc. "...but but but c-consquences" BE. DAMNED. These men do it anyway despite having skin in the game. These men do it anyway despite people trying to use shaming language to get them to fall in line. Stuff like this happens ALL THE TIME as a married man. Say something controversial (which is often just you speaking your mind tbh lol) or how you live which goes against the narrative and people will be like "What will your wife think about what you just said? I'm gonna tell her.", "I wouldn't let my husband do that", "As a husband you ought to....", etc. trying to get you to conform to what THEY believe a marriage should be.

The uncomfortable truth for them (and for many of you Red Pill/MGTOWs as well) is that marriage is, ultimately, what YOU make it. Even in marriage you have the CHOICE to do what YOU want. (albeit with consequences but every choice in life has consequences) A husband CHOOSES to give his wife power or not. A husband CHOOSES to sleep around or not. A husband CHOOSES to be a good parent or not. With that said, the common stereotype of the husband being a "slave" to his wife in marriage is in itself a choice. This is where many Red Pill/MGTOW men "miss the forest for the trees" ignorantly believing one man's choice =/= every man's choice

Closing Thoughts: “By nature of definition only the coward is capable of the highest heroism” To claim (by definition) that a married man can not be MGTOW is the equivalent of claiming (by definition) a coward can not be a hero. Contrary to popular belief, a coward can CHOOSE to be heroic. Does that mean common occurance? No. It's an outlier. Yeah I get, "If everyone is a MGTOW then nobody is a MGTOW" I agree. You don't want to open the flood gates because the term MGTOW will lose it's meaning. I agree. However at the same time it behooves me to suggest you acknowledge the outlier of married men who follow the MGTOW lifestyle. We, as men, should not become so dogmatic in the tenants of MGTOW that we forget the point (or "miss the forest for the trees" as I said earlier). Marriage is a raw deal for men. Married or not, a man can CHOOSE to "go his own way." Does this men a married man should immediately divorce his wife or forgo his responsibilities? That's HIS choice as a man. So long as this man is not basing his value as an individual on female validation and/or actively advocating for marriage then I think we need a "conditional admission" for these outlier of men. Not that it matters, these are going to do what they want regardless of whether you consider them MGTOW or not. Married MGTOWs may be "tardy to the party" but I don't think we missed the boat. Contrary to popular belief, the "freedom" for married MGTOWs comes in knowing regardless of how good or bad you are as a husband, from a statistical perspective, divorce is STILL the most likely outcome...which gives you the freedom to do what you want <--- THIS IS HOW A MARRIED MAN GOES HIS OWN WAY.
