MGTOW Gatekeeping?

Rollo Tomassi is married and Rich Cooper (Entrepenuers In Cars) is either married or in an ltr. With all due respect, I don't think any of you guys would "gatekeep" them and tell them that they're not really MGTOW.

I would, and so would most knowledgeable MGTOW. Rich Cooper and Rolli Tomassi are not MGTOW. They are red pill. That's different. Red pill is a broader category.

Rich Cooper is critical of MGTOW and would feel insulted if you called him MGTOW. He's in the business of trying to coach men to be "alpha" so they can get into red pill relationships and spend their lives maintaining frame. Rollo is also critical of MGTOW, although he's more diplomatic than Rich. Both Rollo and Rich are better understood as red pill and perhaps PUA. I admire Rollo.

So if you think these guys are MGTOW, I think you're confused about MGTOW.

You basically got it right when you said:

(no cohabitation, no marriage, no children).

That's about it. Beyond that, there are plenty of variations. There is no rigid set of rules. You can be MGTOW in a lot of different ways. That's why it's called going your own way.

I might add that MGTOW means detaching yourself from the need for female validation and then turning that time and energy toward other things.

No one can really care keep it.

Mostly I just stick to ignoring women, or if I dated one (it’s been years) it would be about me, not being with a liability and have absolutely zero interest in marriage.

Not a big deal really.

I believe they have both come out in the past and said they are not Mgtow and they also don’t support the idea. I could be wrong but regardless, Mgtow is my path. It’s not for me to act the Mgtow Puritan and say what others are or aren’t. If they say they are, then they are. If they say they aren’t, then they’re not. I won’t define another mans choices.

You just say "you should not" but you give no reason why not? Gatekeeping is maybe a word that tends to have a negative cronotation but mostly from femnazies and SJWs or from people that have no gender dysphoria but want to transition without a valid reason to transition.

It's also about labels, which partially has historic reasons why you can't gatekeep them effecitively like lesbian as example, basically it included at the beginning just all women that had sex with women the destingtion that they not had sex with man was not valid.

The word comes from the island lesbos where women were left alone and because there were no man they practised homosexual practices it was also used as a verb and later became a noun. At that time according to wikipedia they also used the word "inverts" but they said that most will change their practises later on but that there were "true inverts" so a "untrue" "invert" would been a bi-sexual in that logic. Probably also transsexuals were included in that group and there was no destingtion between the two groups, both would been called inverts.

Because they are mostly attracted to the same sex they were "assigned" by birth and because there was no real way to transition back then, they were basically homosexuals.

So it's hard to gatekeep such old terms, it would be great to have clear cut terms because language should be also there to have a way to transfair information and meaning efficiant and without big confusions, but language is not always that way sadly, therefor we have "lesbians" that have sex with 100 man each year, and also if you hit on a girl in a bar and she says she is lesbian it's very reasonable to ask if she means that she don't like man or if she is exclusively lesbian, because that is not clear.

With MGTOW the thing is more clear, there was a document that described what MGTOW is, and beeing married does not fit that clear description, so why would somebody that does the opposite of the original definition be able to call themself MGTOW? You can say you would be MGTOW if you get divorced, fine or that you like MGTOW or agree to that thesises, but you are not MGTOW.

That's like gatekeeping the term "black" I am caucation and I am ok that people should not let me define as black 20 year old women or something alike... they should "gatekeep" that, yes of course.

I wouldn't see any purpose in telling them they aren't anything that they think they are, but I'll have my own views of what MGTOW means to me. I'd certainly remove them from my feed if they were sending me videos about how to live MGTOW married life.

Here is a thought: Posers exist. If they do not fit the definition of MGTOW then it is entirely possible that they are lying or mislead.

Here's a second thought: People just assume they are MGTOW because they comment on the subject. Talking about MGTOW doesn't make you MGTOW. It is entirely possible these guys are Red Pillers, PUAs, MRAs etc.

If they do not fit the definition of a word then they cannot be defined by said word.

The first thing to keep an eye out for is if they want your money. Are they selling you books? Soap? A subscription plan? The secrets of the universe? The real gatekeepers are the ones who see you as a dollar sign.
