What do you do for work? Why do you work?

So, folks. Why do you work? What do you do for work? I don't mean why do you work for the money's sake, but why do you do WHAT you do? What interests you about it? Because it obviously does not pay to work to pay more of it in taxes and to save it in a 401(k) that is being eaten away at inflation. Or to have uncle Sam take 40 or 50% of it in taxes at minimum.

I go to work because it gives me a place to go for 8 hours of the day/night and I would be even more bored if I didn't have my job. I work, just to get out of the house for 8 hours a day. I have a good setup where I have cheap rent ~ 600/mo and can get by on a low salary. So just about any job can get me by. And I work nights at where I currently work.
