To cut a long story short things haven't been good between my wife and I for quite a while. It's only a few months since we hit rock-bottom and she stated that she no longer had romantic feelings for me etc. Anyhow, I started lifting 7 months ago and discovered RP around 2 months ago (incidentally, the discovery of RP snapped me out of my enormous depression virtually overnight - I previously did not know this philosophy existed. All I previously had to rely on for understanding women was mainstream media).

I've been lifting, reading RP stuff as much as possible and working on my frame, but yesterday I expressed my unhappiness to my wife that I felt she took me for granted (too much "run and fetch" type tasks with no gratitude, basically). This resulted in a very angry reaction from her. In the past I would have argued back and got emotional (and ruined it ending up on my knees apologising like the pathetic beta I was that I am trying to kill off), but this time I did not retaliate at all. Actually, I mentally switched off when she responded with a shit storm. She even said "it's not funny" to me when I tried (pretty clumsily) to apply amused mastery.

Anyway, after I had ignored her for a while and she calmed down she was pretty affectionate to me - hugging etc. and making up. She even mentioned the word "romance" (something she said had gone for good a few months ago, never to return). Interesting...

Now onto what I percieved as the subsequent "comfort test"....

She suggested that we should do more nice "unexpected" things for each other ("nice surprises" I think were her exact words). However, she made it crystal clear that it should be ME doing the "nice surprises" for her (rather than the other way around). I kept my mouth shut on this subject. I think it was a comfort test, but I'm really not sure how to handle this. Ignore and carry on as usual?

Any suggestions?
