Your failure is not in seeing the test, you are still looking for validation like a little child does to there mom.

You shouldn't have told her you were going to move the car. Just do it no question asked. You brining it up for her validation allowed her to ask (tell) you to do her car and thus put it completely in her frame. Just do it and don't talk about it. And when she tries to nag about the keys I would have just ignored it. A cocky smile and a sarcastic ok sweetie.

Another thought that comes to my mind from this episode is that you should have your own complete set of keys for all the vehicles in the household. Part of being in charge of the man stuff.

No one gives a shit about your wife, mention her as little as possible, if you wish to discuss how she feels, I'm sure there are many other subs to get her mindset off your chest. Don't be that guy in the locker room who just talks about his woman.

and personal thought... The sub doesn't need a handjob, you don't have to praise jesus after every statement, save that for your church.

But since you have asked for feedback,

you could have used AM/AA, or
you could have just put the keys where they belonged when you came back and you wouldn't have gone through this. i.e. you could have owned your shit

She asked you for a favour, you honoured it, then you gave a shit test by leaving the keys on the table instead of where they belonged. Or maybe just a covert contract to see if she would validate your niceness. She didn't. You got butt hurt- yes it may not appear to you, but your response indicates so. Next time leave her car where it is i.e. don't do her a favour, and you won't have to worry about putting back the keys where they belong.

Simple rule to know what kind of test it is:

If it is about YOU it is a shit test.. IE "You need to change..."

If it is about HER, then it could be a comfort test.. IE "I don't think I am attractive anymore"

This was a shit test. You did an OK job with it, just be careful not to DEER. Say No, smirk, and move on with life. (dont discuss).

Remember, you are leading her, so if you respond with A&A and make her request sound silly and ridiculous, she is likely to follow the reality that you set.

Understand that this is really about her trying to maintain her right to make decisions for you, as that's the core of dominance. She is asserting her right to decide 1) how keys need to be dealt with 2) that she gets to decide that for you (most importantly). You need to simply refuse to let her make either or both of those decisions and resist the ways that she will pressure you to allow her to make those decisions. The tactics she will use to pressure you include anger, shame, logic, disapproval and complicated theories about key management. But this has nothing to do with any of those things - its about dominance. And at some point you will simply need to decide that you will be the only one who will be making decisions for you. Then do whatever you want. Leave, joke, insult, laugh, whatever.

Well, you take bluetack and make a fort around those keys on the table out of it. Then slam pins and needles into it. Put a piece of paper on a toothstick and write "WIFE'S FORT! NO MEN ALLOWED!" on it. Or some such.
