Her verbalizations while you were at a low are her hamster telling her how she feels she SHOULD act towards a man she loves. She legitimately believes this is the right thing to do and that she shouldn't place concerns on you while you're down. However, if that goes on too long, she starts to doubt your reliability of support no matter what she intellectually believes is the right thing to do in the moment.

Now that she feels more secure, she opened up about a fear or anxiety she had because she's haaaaapppy and feels close.

Both are true, her concerns don't mean she was being duplicitous or that she was actively planning to leave, but neither should either of those statements be carried with much weight because emotions are ephemeral and of the moment. But I'm guessing you know that already.

I had EXACTLY the same experience with my LTR.

Every detail EXACTLY the same.

What I realized is that all women are like this. And I mean ALL. My LTR was just the first one who ever trusted me enough to be upfront and honest about it.

If you think back on the behavior of other women you’ve known in your life the signs are there. They are just never up front about it.

I forget where I first read it, but it all makes sense if you understand that “love” means something totally different to a man and a woman.

For men, being in love is all about feelings of protectiveness. That kind of love only grows stronger the more your partner needs you.

For women being in love is about feelings of adoration and respect. If a woman doesn’t respect you and adore you, she can’t love you. So when you are at a low, respect erodes, and so does love.

What’s great here for you (and me) is...

This woman loves you enough to be honest about this stuff.
This woman has enough self awareness to recognize what’s happening with herself (many would just suddenly stop loving you and not know why)
She has enough impulse control to keep these feelings under control and in perspective for at least a little while (many women totally lack this)

I know it’s counter intuitive but I think this is actually a good sign. She’s a keeper.

Saw this post yesterday. Left it up because I figured it'd be good newbie bait. Note the differences in response between flaired people and your non-regular posters - especially the fact that this turned into a circlejerk for whining.

It's so much easier to whine and bitch - and it tells you a lot about the person doing the whining and bitching.

I had something similar happen with my wife when we were dating, over 10 years ago.

We met, and hit it off. I was not aware of the red pill yet, but I was unconsciously using game, and she was VERY attracted to me, in love, and sex was good.

Prior to dating this woman, I had been previously married, and two years earlier my ex-wife and I had lost a newborn son who died in infancy. The death of that child was a HUGE factor in my divorce from the ex-wife. The massive grief was one of those experiences that Nietzsche referred to when he wrote, "...what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger." I had spent nine months growing increasingly excited about becoming a father, and I had fantasies about teaching my son how to throw a football, taking him fishing, etc. His death was very hard on me.

As the second anniversary of his birth/death rolled around, I found myself growing increasingly morose, and I will admit that I was grieving and feeling sorry for myself. My wife, who was just my girlfriend at the time, grew very cold and distant, and we came very close to breaking up.

I didn't learn until many years later that she lost a lot of respect and attraction for me because of that. My reaction was, "WTF? A man cannot grieve the death of his infant son?"

Apparently not. We wound up getting married anyway, and the marriage has been very disappointing. I swallowed my own red pill a couple of years ago, and I'm now preparing my exit from the marriage.

That wasn't her being two-faced--that was her biological survival mechanism kicking in. Women have babies. They are physically weaker than men. Women biologically don't have the luxury of NOT making contingency plans, regardless of how much they love you. Not only was she not being two-faced, she was actually being as loving and supportive as possible, DESPITE the biological imperative to come up with a plan B. She didn't bounce. The only mistake she made was admitting her true thoughts to you later, but I'm betting she did that out of love and feelings of guilt, rather than out of indifference or a desire to hurt you.
