Its come out in topics around here a bit about the idea of men and woman being equal or not. It really ends up being about what a person means when they say that. Equal while carrying the meaning of the same, does not have to mean that nor does being the same have to be taken literally. To this effect my wife is my equal as she acts in my stead. She speaks with my voice, and tries to even keep me on track with the values I say I support. I am the head, and she is the body. This does not always work smoothly, and without resentment at times. She is not the same as me literally, nor is her role the same as mine. Modern woman hate the notion that they are an extension of there husband. Yet, they should reflect their husbands values.

The main point of the post is to consider what role you want your wife to have. Division of labor equals greater productivity. Where can your wife be a help for you? And does she now it? This is an area I'm working on defining more myself. I've failed in creating clear expectations early on, that festered resentment.
