I come at RP from I think a somewhat different perspective. I've never had trouble staying in decent shape (though I let mass slip in previous years). I was always at least a few points ahead of my wife in SR.

The problem with me is all mental and emotional. I had OCD like a motherfucker. I was an introvert. I was fucking scared of everything. I found out-and it took some doing-that there's no such thing as OCD, fear or being introverted.

People put labels on themselves. I hated going to anything social. I hated leaving the house really. I had to run around and make sure everything was off and everything was locked. When I got out I didn't want to talk to anyone. All I could think about was the house was burning down. I had nothing in common with anyone. I was afraid of being ignored or made fun of. I spent so many years of my life being a pussy. And not to mention I did this in front of my wife, which, as you can imagine made her so so wet.

These things we make up they don't exist.

I'm now friends with more people at my wife's work than she is. Let that sink in. She goes there every day. I go there like once a week. When we go to a social function she feels bad because she doesn't talk and I talk to everyone.

The OCD was fear based. I realized this. I was afraid of losing everything. But my fear was actually not letting me enjoy anything and it was pushing my wife away.

I was deathly afraid of heights. I went rappelling.

The point is to not be so quick to label yourself as something and let that define you and define your actions. All the feel good stuff tells you that you should let your feelings out and its ok to be afraid. Its not, push that shit down and push on.
