There's an all-girls running group at my son's school. Boys aren't welcome and yet there's no all-boys group offered.

This is systemic. A thick double standard exists.

Because society wants to teach your son that sexism is perfectly fine as long as it's a woman being sexist. I remember boy scouts and I also was an eagle scout. It is some of my best memories as a youth. This is really too bad.

Why? Well the Boy Scouts are perceived to be better by women, in part because they just assume that males have the best of things. But also because there is the appalling double standard at the moment. Girls can have their own spaces, and indeed are deemed to need and deserve them, but boys are denied them. In my city some feminist teachers even think they’re entitled to barge into boys changing rooms because she doesn’t like the noise they’re making.

in my country, scouts are mixed, period.

was a bit of a culture shock at a jamboree, lots of nationalities that didn't expect girls to show up.

I don't get all that boys vs. girls thing. I mean I get it in sports, but having girl-only in everything else is just plain stupid.

I'm curious, have any male youths attempted to sue the Girl Scouts organization for not letting them in?

Cuz my guess is that it hasn't happened simply because there haven't been any boys who cared enough about joing GS to throw a legal fit about it. And from what I've heard, I don't blame them...GS sounds boring AF.

Right. If you're a girl and you like learning survival and camping skills, you can join boy scouts.

But if you're a boy, and you like being used by a million dollar industry to sell cookies without pay while somehow avoiding child labour laws...you still can't join the girl scouts.

It's partially because Boy Scouts is more recognized than Girl Scouts, so people sued to let the girls in. It's a clear double standard, but until someone takes it to court it's gonna stand.
