I post in the aftermath of an argument with my gf.

We heard about some 2/3 women being sexually abused on a campus somewhere. Family goes on about how you shouldn't be afraid to go anywhere alone. As I agree that it's a terrible thing they comment that there's nothing a woman does that would warrant being raped.

I agree that shouldn't be the case when they comment that it doesn't matter what they're wearing either.

...and here's the start of the fight.

I wasn't advocating any way that they deserved anything nor blame them for what they were wearing.

But all I wanted established was 'clothing is a language.' It's a symbol that reflects your views or opinions.

If it wasn't a language then lingerie means nothing.

I tried to only explain that point but feel they saw it as "they were asking for it." Which I didn't say at all.

Am I in the wrong cuz I started some major rage that ended in 'just drop it!'

TL;DR,

Regardless of what you are wearing, nothing advocates rape. BUT know that clothing is a language. ...am I wrong?
