The fatherhood point disgusts me. About a year ago I was drugged and raped (I'm gay if that matters) and if that had resulted in a child I would have to have paid child support. Yet, if I had gone to court, I would never have had a chance and been laughed off because "men can't be raped".
I believe in equality for all, but these radical feminists are asking for superiority rather than consistent treatment of all: regardless of race, gender, sexuality, religion etc.
Even though I'm politically affiliated as a "leftie", this neo-liberal shit pisses me off to no end.

Neo-liberalism/progressivism: your rights end where muh feelings begin. You basically hit the nail on the head, brother.
Edit: better description.

Thank you, at least I'm not the only one who doesn't want to cater to the whim of every delusional half-wit in the world.
EDIT: your definition is perfect by the way.

I wish I could take the credit for the definition. Don't thank me, thank the red-pilled folks over at 4chan's /pol/.

4chan can be surprisingly insightful sometimes.

FTFY. The rest of 4chan is cancer.

Nothing pisses me off more.

Please don't lump progressive as a negative term now. This is feminist nonsense not anything to do with progressives. Please don't (as a leftie) taint another word we need. We've already lost socialism and liberalism.
[–]repmack 9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
neo-liberal
I don't think you know what that word means. It's always used as a pejorative too, which is stupid. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoliberalism
[–]MrEddyKempSir 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Thanks for the link
[–]dungone 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Neoliberalism is something else. I would call it neo-progressivism just to keep things clear. Or, perhaps neo-social-liberalism.
Thanks man, I'm not so well versed in this seemingly ever-expanding vocabulary.
Neo-progressivism sounds good, the point remains the same though. I mainly attribute it to the rise of social warriors.
[–]dungone 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Me too.
I would say it differs from New Deal progressivism in the following ways:
Essentialist; does not value individuals or the rights of individuals.
Seeks equality of outcomes rather than opportunities.
Embraces punitive social engineering and demagoguery rather than social safety nets.
General pettiness, gives up on social mobility or broader ideas of equality.
[–]neo16164 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
And as always, the lower class, those who are truly getting the raw end of the deal, are fucked. Yup, sounds about right.
[–]iGhast 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Hit the nail on the head my friend. Sorry about your negative experiences.
[–]MrEddyKempSir 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No worries man, I try to put it all behind me now
[–]long_black_road 35 points36 points37 points 11 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
I'm not arguing with OP, but I wish whomever created the graphic would use spell check ("can't rcover money of his business from the government due to his gender") and grammar check ("has a harder time to get welfare"). Sloppily created, grammatically incorrect statements and graphics do not advance the discussion, but they do harm the perception of men advocating for men's rights.
[–]eXeHijaKer 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
I was thinking the same. And i feel it's silly to only bring up the positives for women and only negatives for men. There are positives and negatives for both sides. I really don't think this graphic puts MRM in a good light, moreso makes us look like whiners who only see negatives in our society when it's harmful to us.
[–]DatOpenSauce 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
While you have an excellent point, maybe it's because the negatives for males 'counter' or relate to the positives of the females?
[–]eXeHijaKer 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Some of it, yes. I agree 100%
Although.. Where do the "is 95% of workdeaths" relate to any of the positives for females though? Suicide rates, rape allegations, lower life expectancy. There are a lot of the points in that graphic that have no relation to the positives listed on the left side at all.
If it was kept to purely counter-points to the positives from females, i wouldn't have minded. It just seems like someone wanted to prove that some of the positives for women hurt men, and figured that since they were at it, they'd list a lot of other shit they were unhappy with. Thereby making the graphic lose a lot of it's credibility in my eyes.
[–]DatOpenSauce 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Yeah there's a lot of irrelevant crap in the picture. Definitely could be improved. Perhaps the creator was a bit angry or something because they saw something in the news or whatever, and got carried away? Gotta give the benefit of a doubt sometimes.
[–]eXeHijaKer 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
You definitely do. But most of the time we don't get the benefit of the doubt. So if we want to be seen as a serious movement in the media, we need to stay clean. Keep to the case and make sure, as i said earlier, that we don't end up sounding like whiners.
Edit: And i'm sorry if i come off just trying to be opposite of you. I agree with you, i just think it's important we try not to act like the Femi-Nazis, and make our voice heard in a calm an collected manner.
[–]DatOpenSauce 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Indeed. I must say, you've been a pleasure to talk to.
[–]eXeHijaKer 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
And you too. It really helped improve an otherwise shitty day :)
Have a nice day.

Needs bullet points, it's hard to read the wall of text. Message is awesome though.
[–]bigboss2014 -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ye if someone could photoshop it with a better presentation it would be fantastic!
[–]l80sman104 9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The points become less factual as the list goes on. IMO
[–]Side_Swipe 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
A bit of cherry picking and nit picking. The list could be just as long on the other side and sound just as scary and be just as technically true as the other.
[–]thistlegypsy 16 points17 points18 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I say that all who want equality, regardless of gender, start calling ourselves Humanists.
[–]NickB333 13 points14 points15 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Or egalitarian, which is a term used by many at the moment.
[–]MrNaked 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I second this. When i told a self proclaimed feminist if she really wants equal rights between all humans, then she should be a humanist like me. She didn't believe that it was a real thing and ignored it altogether...
[–]Broodaskani 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
One can be both; humanism is a philosophy but feminism is an ideology/movement.
[–]librtee_com 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'd like to point out the sloppy use of 'rights' in this:
For instance, if men commit suicide at three times the higher rate than women do, that might be a symptom of rights denied in important areas of men's lives, but it does not itself in any way indicate that his 'rights' have been violated.
[–]aksuVOIMAMIES 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You forgot: alimony and being thrown to debtors prison if not pay child support and/or alimony
[–]BigBoyDraws 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I may be wrong but im pretty sure alimony only comes into play if the couple was married. But i think it also differs per state.
[–]SleepingSheeple10 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
97% of alimony is paid to women:

[–]TheUniversalAdvocist 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Feminists should be presented with these facts, if they weren't stubborn knuckleheads who would deny this.
