Was listening to the Dave Eslwick show a few minutes ago (local radio show) and a man called in and said that his wife would often start fights to avoid admitting she is wrong, even when she is wrong. Then, one of his cohosts suggested (as if it were legitimate advice and not a joke) that "Even if she's wrong, she's right." She then stated the husband should just say that he is wrong and she is right to avoid confrontation and that she would see things his way and that his wife would apologize later for being irrational.

What kind of advice is this? This is something I might try on a teenager. Not a full grown woman. You don't manipulate your wife into complacency. By giving this advice Dave's cohost (I forget her name) lowered women to the level of an infantile brat. The man's wife was out of line, he should inform her of that. Adults don't behave that way. He shouldn't just acquiesce to her because he wants to avoid a fight. Husbands should not cower and tuck tail simply because their wives are in a hissy.

That advice demeans both women and men, and is in my opinion vulgar. This culture of "women should be treated like princesses even if they're borderline psychotic" needs to be addressed and put to an end.
