I'm a high school student in America and today in English, my teacher started talking about the works of Homer and how they are considered some of the earliest feminist peices and we should look for these things in the Odyssey and the Illiad when we read them in class. He then proceded to lecture us on how most of the world is patriarchal, including America, how most societies are not matriarchies, how women "earn" $0.77 for every male $1.00, all kinds of feminist rhetoric. As I looked around the room, every person excluding myself and the person sitting next to me just sat there and agreed with the things he said. Nobody even looked like they remotely disagreed, they sat there lapping it up because, after all, he's a teacher and teachers never give people wrong information when it comes to ideology and feminism, especially when the teacher is a feminist themself, right?

The point of me writing this is as follows. What should I do about this? Teachers should not be allowed to inject a bias into their lessons, especially at the age my class is at. These kids never learned critical thinking, they can't distinguish what is driven by political leanings and what is based in cold hard fact. I really feel like this should not be able to continue, but what can I do about it as a student?
