This video does overstate its point a little bit. The guy should lend money if the girl doesn't have her wallet.

The main difference that would exist on a date where the gender's were treated equally is that the women would need to make more of the decisions, make more of the moves, ect. Warren Farell (before he was kicked out of the feminist movement) once did an exercise with his women's studies class (I think it was a women's studies class), where he did a role reversal date, so that women could experience what it is like to be expected to make most of the advances.

Dating a feminist means you let her treat you, you let her get your door, sometimes you offer to get her door too. Gasp! It's seriously dropping gender roles, not being an asshole which is counterproductive to dating.

Odd message coming from this, but all I could gather was that he was role-reversed and she was not. Essentially it was two girls that were expecting the other to be the "man" on the date.

Honestly though, when it comes to courting, and most especially a first date, the gender roles are a good thing. Having an expected social dynamic for these conditions creates a conducive environment for people to foster emotional bonding. Without these roles, you get the flavor of awkward moments that this video demonstrates.
